Facelift

Long story short, I was thinking it's time to switch the looks of my 2008 CL600, so I did it. Here is my (car's) facelift pictures. Before (600) and after (wannabe 63 AMG).

Retrofitted fog lights, front/rear bumpers, hood, changed the wheels/brakes, badges (proud ebay buy), nice repaint job and few other minor things.
How good of a job did I do?
Did I miss anything?

I'm a little confused......the "After" picture of your car is posted on another forum as someone's "first AMG, CL63"

You state: Retrofitted fog lights, front/rear bumpers, hood, changed the wheels/brakes, badges (proud ebay buy), nice repaint job and few other minor things.

He states: "Hello to all members! Picked up my new baby 3 days ago.
Options are: all typical, 19" wheels (a must on East Coast), Performance Package and illuminated AMG sills which I absolutely love (silly me)"......accompanied by:

....and

"Thank you guys!
I see very friendly bunch of folks here. Will enjoy the stay, for sure.
Janna's request of who built my engine doesn't need sun/nice weather, so give me few and I'll snap a pic".

"I'm a noob to AMG family.
Five years ago, I test drove CL 63AMG and CL600. Chose CL600.
So far I can say, very different cars. Way too soon to fully compare".

When asked: "Welcome and cannot wait for more photos. Make sure you take an engine shot and post over to Who Made your engine".....the following is posted:

Was the engine "updated also?

You certainly know how to spoil the fun.

Take a "humor" pills twice, on daily basis.

And regarding the engine, yeah I sold four left over cylinders on ebay for 40k.

To end the confusion, him and I are the same person. Any further questions?

I am very impressed, that looks just amazing! The look of the base Cl's from last decade doesn't quite impress me, but still beautiful. The new look is just amazing and beautiful. I'd love to see more shots!

Thank you!

If "last decade" point out to W215 build, I agree, very blatant in my opinion. But, that's just in my opinion, must stretch "my opinion" as lots of people loves the look. And power to them.

More shots?...

Convincing replica. Did you rebadge? Why didn't you go for CL65 - at least cylinder count would match.

What is your interior color? Silver exterior is hard to match with much other than pretty dark colors...

Interesting update. So I assume you pretty much swapped out everything from the A-pillar forward, correct? Because everything from the front windshield forward is different for 2011+. New side sills and mirrors too, correct? Also, it looks like you changed the entire interior, as your seats were light brown and now they are charcoal grey? Essentially a rebuild of most of the car & completely new interior. A solid $40-$50k of work. Good job!

I'm 1/128th of Chinese descent, so obviously good replicas are my forte!

The interior gave me a bit of a challenge, especially with that silly AMG illuminated sign.
Twice, it came wrong, the first time ANG, the second time AMC, but the third time was a charm ... just perfect AMG sign.

As for the Iridium Silver exterior and the leather color combination, there is but one color to go with - black. And that's what I did. I think it came fairly okay.

hello guys!!

I need a bit of help, Ive done the same to my 2008 CL63 (will post pics soon!)

now, rear diffuser, I bought the facelift style one but it doesnt seem to fit the stock 2008 CL63 bumper, must I also change the bumper to house the new style diffuser also?

Secondly, after having done a few W221's, Im familar with the facelift LED convertion, in terms of new wiring, coding Sams, wiring etc. However im fiding hard to find someone (anywhere) to code my sams and my headlight ECUs. I used Sonic MS previously for my other builds but he cant seem to do the W216's.

Pics will come very soon, I promise, and youll be impressed! (Pearl white )
