NAV and Telematics update
Hi Gentlemen
My HDD works, but before it dies i will pull an image
I would like to update the NTG3 USA Head unit. I use Vediamo, but not sure if the Vediamo FW update will update what is on the Telematics DVD. Also, I would like to update the US Map data, but wasnt able to find a working DVD on ebay. Any help with that?
Thank you guys, will try to put in a bluetooth adapter, now that i found the pinout of the NTG3.
any help with the Maps or the Telematics would be helpful. I am fully professional at images, partitions etc.

Unfortunately the HDD in my car was already broken when I bought the car. Now I would be able to change the hard drive. Therefore I need an image for the new drive. It's an euro spec w221 s600 from 2007 (NTG3). If anyone could provide me an image of the HDD, I would highly appreciate it. E-Mail: wolfimschafspelz@streber24.de

I just acquired a 2013 W221 and was having issues with accessing the music register and figured now was the best time to do this upgrade. The system is NTG3.5 and despite you having to provide a PIN to update your maps, you DO NOT have to worry about that when you clone the drive. I highly recommend using a Linux system to image the drive. I used "Tails for creating the drive image. The process was painless, I used a 64Gig m\SATA card and the Ableconn adapter. With the facelift models, it's easier to get access to the drive, you don't have to remove the command unit because the drive is accessible from the lower left front of the unit. Two T9 screws secure the tray to the unit.
I'm currently exploring ways to expand the capacity of the music register. I've done some "experiments" and know that the size can be increased to at least 30Gig.

I have successfully expanded the size of the Music Register to 30.3GB. I cloned the 40GB drive to a 64GB mSATA. I'll do a write up of this (with screen shots) in the W221 forum in a couple of days but here are the basic steps.
1. Clone the existing 40GB hard drive
2. Use KDE Partition Manager to extend the extended partition to consume the newly acquired additional space. The drive has 3 primary partitions plus 1 extended partition(container) for 3 additional partitions, the last one being the Music Register
3. Use Windows Disk Manager to expand the Music Register so that it uses the additional space. I tried to do this using KDE Partition Manager but it didn't work, but Windows Disk Manager works like a charm.
