I bought PCMCIA adapter for my 2009 W216 & i downloaded some music to a memory card and inserted it in the PCMCIA slot in the Command unit . However, From the Menu I selected Audio but sadly I don't see Memory card option under the Audio menu to play the music on memory card !
Under the Audio menu i can see Radio , CD, DVD, Mp3, Aux but no memory card option!
Do i need to have the option activated on the command unit ?
I did not use a regular SD card yet i but i did get another adapter but not luck still same problem .
I did search the forum for all topic related to PCMCIA adapters and which memory card to use i thought mine will work but didn't .
I'm trying to determine if the issue is adapter/ memory card or my command unit ?
By the way are you able to see the Memory card option under the audio menu even if the adapter/memory card is removed from comand unit ?
I'm wondering why I dont have memory card option under the drop down Audio menu in my car ! Is it an option that needs to be activated before I'm able to use it ?

I have no memory card option. I use the MP3 option. I was never able to get the SD cards to work that's why I went with the Compact Flash.
I paid a visit to Mercedes dealer to get advice , and was told i need to leave the car with them to check. They said if command unit faulty they might not be able to fix it and i need to buy a new Command unit .
The cost will be around $10,000 ($10K) OMG !
Not sure if its the adapter or the command unit might consider buying a used unit .... Is it plug and play or does it still require programming to work in my car ?
I have tried various adapters/memory card combos and had no issues. The only thing that gave me an issue was if I created folders and put the music in there. If the MP3s were in the root of the memory card everything worked fine.

i just put all the songs in the root directory without any folders and i still have the same problem
I'm clueless
I did format using Fat and Fat 32 both did not work

Glad it worked out for you...................I forgot to mention there's a slight lag before the music starts playing.
has anyone managed to use a greater that 32GB micro SD in theirs? at the moment im using a 32GB Micro SD in an SD adapter, i bought a 128GB card to replace it with but the car wouldn't read it and i wasn't sure if it was my PCMIA adapter or a limitation in the cars software.
Me too I assumed the same but after testing it works fine... There is few minutes delay before start playing depending on how many music GB's you have on the memory card.
Good luck
