So i just got quoted by a kleemann dealer

i got quoted 30K for a supercharger, ecu, headers, lsd, and i think thats it.. anything else i should be lookin at? I MAY get the cams.. i dont know though.. oh also, that comes with a full exhaust too i guess.. what about their brakes or any suspension work? i hear the brembo 8 piston or the kleemann 8 piston will be a world of difference even over the cl55's brakes..

For $30k cams are not included? If it's not then something is wrong. For that much money i think it should be (kompressor s/c, headers/downpipes, cams, LSD and ecu). You should get a written quote of exactly what you're getting for $30k upgrade so there is no miscommunication. Also which shop/dealer is this you're getting a quote from? You can't go wrong with either Brembo or Kleemann 8-piston brakes setup. But if you're a true baller get the Brembo GTR's!

pooring $30,000 which does not increase the value of a car into a 2001 CL55 that is already depreciating ridiculously just because it is a CL.. holy ****. mr. rich guy eh?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't include cams because he said that 30k will get me to 600HP and i then asked what cams would do and he said that they would get me more hp.. so they arn't included.. and i was thinking maybe i should buy a newer lower milage like 03/04 cl and then mod it.. ya know?? hmm.. we'll see..

$30k for . . . what?

An old Hot Rodder gave me these simple rules for power. The car should be considered the well
tuned athlete. The car has to breathe easy and exhale easy. Everything done should be to that
end. Consider gas the “food” system for the car. The more you give it, the more it can run.
Taking it to the extreme - ramming food down the throat of the car forces the car to “run” faster.
Jam too much food into the system and you can kill it (blow the engine). Give the car a good set
of “shoes” to run with. The ECU is fine tuning the athlete’s brain. And so on. Makes it all
kinda simple, doesn’t it. This advice came from a guy who regularly “ran” down the road at
over 200 mph on the dragstrip.

im dont know if anybody has asked you yet, but if you were going to spend 30k on a 01 CL55, why didnt you just get an 03? an 03 could have been had for around 75k. you would already have been at 500hp, and im sure 600hp wouldnt have been hard to obtain. ecu, odps, headers. Wouldnt have been much more, if even that, maybe less.

I wouldn't do it. Just upgrade the car. You will lose too much money and have no warranty. Its definitely a bad financial decision.

I agree... my Renntech 635hp '03 CL600 is coming off lease in a couple of months and will be valued at something like 75K. It's nicer in a lot of ways than an '01 and would still have a year of warranty.

I would definately not sink 30K into an '01 given the alternatives

wtf do u need to spend 30K on an 01 to get 600hp for. Get an E55 and ECU and pulleys and call it a day. At least then you might have a chance at a warranty claim if something breaks.

30K is just the beginning. You can't imagine what your service bills are going to be after a while of running a 600hp Benz built with aftermarket parts.
