BTW, the new Lexus LS does look like a major improvement over past models and may well be stylistically and dynamically better than the new S class, especially when they get the hybrid LS 4WD out later this year. I sold my 03 CL55 last fall and will get the new Audi S8 in Oct. The CL55 was an elegant, comfortable and dynamically very impressive car. I just like Quattro for the weather in Boston more than rwd. In the past 6 years I have owned a 2000 CLK 430, a 2002 CL500 Sport, a 2003 SL500 Sport and the 03 CL55. It is highly unlikely that I will return to Mercedes any time soon.

I wouldn't say that until you see it in person.

It is frequent practice for manufacturers to put other company's emblems on their spy cars as to not be detected. It is certainly possible, and likely from the looks of it, that this is a Honda or somethign and not a Mercedes at all.

2003 CL55
Let us hope that Kar don is right and the actual CL will look much better than the pics that I referenced in my recent post. It is possible that I will change my mind, but certainly not based on the new S class. In the meantime, I shall wait paitently for my new S8 due in Oct. and 997 C4S due in June. Also, untill MB can get it right with AWD, it is unlikey that I will have any further interest in the AMG cars. It is just too hard to get the power down with RWD on anything other than perfectly dry, flat, moderate temperature roads. (The 997 GT3 may be an exception to my preference for AWD.) How many of you with CL55's use all of the power/torque on a regular basis? In 2 1/2 years with my 03 CL55 I did not use all of the power on more than a few occasions because if I did it would have either been dangerous or illegal or both.

Well if you like the new S-class I think you will like the new CL. They will be very similar as the 220 and 215 are..

Perhaps it will grow on me, but I do not like the new S Class design.

That side profile is just terrible. It looks too bubbly....like the glass is too tall. What a shame!

I see a much more distinct difference between the 220 and 215 than the new S and CL. They look too similar.

Its not beyond MB to go backwards. I think the older CLK looked much more distinctive than the current one.
