Low dyno?? 377 RWHP

I dyno'd my 2004 CL55 with the temperature as high as I could get it. This seems a bit low to me for a "493 HP" car?? Anyone have any input on this?
I also ran 13.0@107mph in San Antonio last week. It was running all day and I had a passenger with me and a trunk full of luggage along with a full tank of gas. I guess it can't get any slower.

That's definitely low. You should be netting more than that. Btw 1520 RWHP @ 59 psi is f**king insane! Gotta love it!

Stock? That's pretty impressive. I just got 426RWHP out of mine. I can't believe MB let the car leave the factory this way?? Maybe mine has a bad intercooler pump. It shouldn't vary 50 RWHP due to operating temperature.

I believe that's 493 hp at the crank. Take that number and subtract 15 - 20 % for rwhp numbers.

Also, your car is a forced induction car, that means since it's compressing air it's very dependent on air temperatures because colder air = denser air and what not.

Can't hear the pump running. I don't know if I should take it in under warranty or upgrade it now.

None... Because the Kompressed engines do not use a MAF .. Only the N/A engines do. Actually, the Turbo engines may use them too. Not sure about that.

However, I did use them in my 2001 N/A CL55... No problems there. Just keep the filters LIGHTLY oiled when it is tile to re-oil them.

Marko,

Ouchhhh...Dana said your CL55 was slow...but now i guess its true. Your MPH is low too...damn dude, go to the dealer and check to see if the IC pump is working. I Just had mine replaced and it woke it up.

Also...bring the car out to Vegas this year and I'll break you off in my E55.

later,

dkm

I ordered an upgraded intercooler pump and am fabricating a new system with a HUGE cooler and almost 8 quart capacity. This should help it stay close to the 420+ RWHP when the engine is at operating temperature. I was bored last night and dyno'd it back to back to back and let it idle for an hour.........I got it down to 366 RWHP exactly an hour after it did 426 RWHP. I couldn't hear the intercooler pump at all. This morning (I left it on the dyno overnight) I dyno'd it after it reached operating temperature by idling only and it did 421 RWHP. Next pull was 399 then 382 then 373. By the time the Vegas meet rolls around I'll be in the 10's with this sled....Bring on that E55!!!

Marco,

It doesn't look like Vegas is your town. My car will be running 10's sooner than yours, so I'll be waiting for that car to come out. We can do it on the street or at the track...you pick. It'll be some good clean fun...

take care,

dkm

Marcus,

Have you taken your beast to the strip or dyno it yet?

Also is there really any difference in the HP/Tq to be had after you do the "same" mods to a SL600 and SL65? Just curious?

Cheers,
Isaac
