Anyhow, you did not quite see the logic in my answer.

I would not compare a 750i to a CL55. I would compare a 750i with a W221 or a CL55 with a M6.

CL-Class are made with a specification to be soooooo EXCLUSIVE for the very demanding individual who will NOT compromise anything less in terms of ownership status, luxury and performance (ones with the AMG badge).
The CL-Class is on top of the S-Class and 7-Series.

Since you have brought up a decision for 750i and a CL55 with no other background information of what car you have previously owned /are currently driving. Or are you into a sedan or a sports car?

Therefore, that left me no chance but had to quote an example using CL500 and 750i. And, I did not expect that was my recommendation to your original question, not I would expect you will take my advice to choose a CL500 which was not your original desired car.

You simply had a certain degree of freedom to quote a generic opened question and we certainly have a degree of freedom to reply.

I thought I had replied correctly, none of 750i and CL500 were wise choice and the choice goes to CL55.

Next time if you require a simple multiple choice answer, please indicate clearly or create a VOTE thread. I did not come here to give advice and ended up to be taught how to give an advice and I hear no "thank you".
Have a nice day.
I think AMGBOY's point is that he's not asking you to compare the two. Rather, he wants your decision as to which car he should get. Since he's intrested in either a CL55 or a 750, keep it to those two. He's not interested in a CL500 and he did not ask for which one is better, but simply "Which should I get if it's between those two?"

Yes, come on guys, isn't it obvious that whatever we here at MB World tell this guy to buy, is exactly what he is going to buy. No offense AMGBOY, but if you can afford either car, why is it up to us to make your decision, buy the car that you like and enjoy it, I think that the 750 is well below the CL55 in terms of pure luxury and performance, but buy the car you want, why do you need us to tell you what to buy?

I may be a little partial here, but the current CL is far from outdated. Go for the '55 - it's hotter, faster and nicer

I'm really sorry, but without the M division, there is not a single BMW that appeals to me, E38 Sports are the only exception. Although that is just me.

That's not just you. That's ME too. Ever since the new designs I've more or less stopped liking BMW's. All the "Pre-Bangle" BMW's were nice, but "Post-Bangle" BMW's.........you gotta be kidding me. Hell, even the M versions on the current cars don't help to make them look any better.

That's why I got a W203 and not an E90; sure the E90 is probably the better car dynamically, but ****, when I wake up in the morning and go to the car, I have to LOOK at it. Screw that, I'd rather have my C anyday. And if I were to pick between a CL55 AMG or M5? That isn't even a fair fight. AMG all the way....that car is HOT. Again, M5 may be the "better car" dynamically, but again, I don't feel justified in forking over $90k for an ugly *** car.

When you look at a car and it has to "grow on you" for you to like it, you know the design sucks ***. I've never had problems looking at Benz's, 911 Turbo's, or any Ferrari. Why? Cuz they're beautiful designs, and pleasing to the eye to begin with.

And if it sounds like I'm hatin' on BMW, so be it. Until they resolve their design issues, I'm lookin elsewhere.

Just my $0.02

His original post asked "What do you guys think? Which would you preffer?" He want's your opinion. He's not asking you to make his final decision, but he's asking for your input. If all you can do is make smartass comments, then don't post-- it's that simple!

I wouldn't think a minute about it, the CL55 for sure. More luxury, more power, much more rare, more sporty in it being a coupe. If I carried people around a lot maybe the BMW but being that I don't, CL55 hands down. There is a reason its a much more expensive car to begin with.

You obviously have a pretty terrible attitude. If you ask for advice, get it, and don't like it, that's fine -- but insulting someone who comes into your little thread to give you advice is just dumb. It definitely won't win you any friends here. Then again, if you're just looking for a quick reply-and-leave, that's fine; the members would probably appreciate that more anyway, based on your behavior here.

Besides, what's with your alias? "AMGBOY1987"? I'm beginning to actually believe that 1987 is not just some arbitrary year, but your birth year. Am I correct in assuming this?

Please buy a BMW, your a$$hole mentality would fit it sooo well. When I feel like acting like you I drive my M3, when I feel successful, respected, and charming I drive the E. But whatever YOU do will be the wrong choice anyways...... so good luck with yourself.

yawn.

That was the most pointless thing i've read all day. If you're not responding to the first post, please just go away. And besides, if I wanted advice from someone like you, i'd be in a Honda forum.

Thanks for wasting my time, bye.

Be ware , AMGBOY1987 is making a joke to this forum.
He asked one simple question two weeks back and started to challenge everyone responded to this thread.
I did not read anything else from AMGBOY1987 rather than:

Well I for one purchase a car by my standards, my purchase affects only me so I buy a car if I like it, not if someone else does. Why you would come to a Mercedes-Benz board and ask if we prefer a 7 or a CL is pretty numskulled if you ask me, obviously we can afford either but choose the Mercedes. So, what is your point?

CL55 all the way...the 7 series looks pretty bulky. That's my 5 cents.

There are tons of people on this forum that couldn't afford one of those vehicles. Furthermore, there are tons of people on this forum that WOULD rather have a 750 than a CL. Just because we drive Benzes doesn't mean we're not open to other vehicles.

And I know this was posted in the CL55 forum. However, there are people like me who don't own a CL that visit, and I am sure that there are people who debated just like AMGBOY did when purchasing their CL. So I don't see the problem.
