CL55 or BMW

Im trying having a hard time chosing between a 2006 BMW 750Li, or a 2005 CL55. I know they're two different types of cars, but those two appeal to me? Thought? Which would you pick?

Thanks

I would chose the CL55 because it has alot more ponies and it will be blast to drive. It all depends what you want also what you will be using it for. If your going to use it as a family car go with the 750 if its for you go with the CL. Good luck on your decision and you can't go wrong with neighter of them.

How many of the new 7 series do you see on the road? Wouldn't buy it for any price. Why don't you go with the S55?

2003 S55 AMG
The AMG without any question. I have a 2003 S55 and I am absolutely in love with it. Every time I drive it, when I get to my destination I cannot help but have a huge smile on my face.

I was looking at the 2004 745's at the time I opted with the AMG. There is no comparison if you like power and performance. The BMW cannot hold a candle to the performance of the AMG.

On another note...I have had several friends with 7 series BMW's over the past few years and ALL of them were in the shop more than they were driven by their owners. One of my closest "car" playing buddies had a 745 and said that it was "nice" but too much of an "old man's" car for him by the way it drives.

Bottom line is that I have never heard of a 7 series owner in love with their car, although AMG owners usually are smitten by their respective automobiles.

My wife actually likes my 55 so much that she has been thinking about getting one for herself.

Hope this helps.

I just find it odd to see another SL owner mocking BMW owners. They are (were) pretty damn good cars.

I would probably pick the CL55. It's strange though because when I think of the two cars, I feel that the CL is more refined and that the 750 is sportier, or more aggressive looking. But I'm pretty sure I'm wrong about the 7 being "sportier" since the CL is an AMG model.

Also, what's the price difference between the two? A fully loaded 750Li stickers for around 90k. Would you be getting a new 2005 CL55 or a used?

Hah. So much anger in this thread.

Take the CL. It's a more powerful car and personally, it looks better. The CL is also more exclusive.

Take the AMG for sure. 10 minutes with iDrive and you'll want to commit suicide.

If AMGBOY is coming back to this scarely thread, here my two cents.

Since we are not comparing apples to apples, we should compare 750iL with CL500.

The best buy does not always mean the best car. If there were no W221(new S), the better buy goes to 750i because it is cheaper and CL500 has no power and is outgoing. But because the true king W221 our mini Maybach is now here, W220 and 750 are both going down to the ditch - no status, ready to trash or say nicely are classics.

The best fun, experience and symbol of society status go to CL55 even it is out going. I say again, 7-series will go down by end 2006 because of W221.

I am seriously in 2 years consideirng a W221 S350 with dual LCD monitors and all massage seats and PASSION leathers! BTW, do you know new S-class is made of carbon fibre ? Huh?

We're not comparing apples to apples because he is not looking for those. He's looking at the CL500 and the 750. He needs our opinions based on the vehicles that he is looking to purchase, not a CL500.

Thanks, but who the hell said anything about a CL500? I specifically asked about the CL55 AMG.

What? 'specific' ? I ain't too sure you were that 'specifc' or otherwise you could have quoted M6 VS a CL55.
Anyhow, you did not quite see the logic in my answer.

I would not compare a 750i to a CL55. I would compare a 750i with a W221 or a CL55 with a M6.

CL-Class are made with a specification to be soooooo EXCLUSIVE for the very demanding individual who will NOT compromise anything less in terms of ownership status, luxury and performance (ones with the AMG badge).
The CL-Class is on top of the S-Class and 7-Series.

Since you have brought up a decision for 750i and a CL55 with no other background information of what car you have previously owned /are currently driving. Or are you into a sedan or a sports car?

Therefore, that left me no chance but had to quote an example using CL500 and 750i. And, I did not expect that was my recommendation to your original question, not I would expect you will take my advice to choose a CL500 which was not your original desired car.

You simply had a certain degree of freedom to quote a generic opened question and we certainly have a degree of freedom to reply.

I thought I had replied correctly, none of 750i and CL500 were wise choice and the choice goes to CL55.

Next time if you require a simple multiple choice answer, please indicate clearly or create a VOTE thread. I did not come here to give advice and ended up to be taught how to give an advice and I hear no "thank you".
Have a nice day.
