CL55 or BMW
Thanks.
How many of the new 7 series do you see on the road? Wouldn't buy it for any price. Why don't you go with the S55?

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I was looking at the 2004 745's at the time I opted with the AMG. There is no comparison if you like power and performance. The BMW cannot hold a candle to the performance of the AMG.
On another note...I have had several friends with 7 series BMW's over the past few years and ALL of them were in the shop more than they were driven by their owners. One of my closest "car" playing buddies had a 745 and said that it was "nice" but too much of an "old man's" car for him by the way it drives.
Bottom line is that I have never heard of a 7 series owner in love with their car, although AMG owners usually are smitten by their respective automobiles.
My wife actually likes my 55 so much that she has been thinking about getting one for herself.
Hope this helps.
Also, what's the price difference between the two? A fully loaded 750Li stickers for around 90k. Would you be getting a new 2005 CL55 or a used?
Thanks
Since we are not comparing apples to apples, we should compare 750iL with CL500.
The best buy does not always mean the best car. If there were no W221(new S), the better buy goes to 750i because it is cheaper and CL500 has no power and is outgoing. But because the true king W221 our mini Maybach is now here, W220 and 750 are both going down to the ditch - no status, ready to trash or say nicely are classics.
The best fun, experience and symbol of society status go to CL55 even it is out going. I say again, 7-series will go down by end 2006 because of W221.
I am seriously in 2 years consideirng a W221 S350 with dual LCD monitors and all massage seats and PASSION leathers! BTW, do you know new S-class is made of carbon fibre ? Huh?

Thanks, but who the hell said anything about a CL500? I specifically asked about the CL55 AMG.

What? 'specific' ? I ain't too sure you were that 'specifc' or otherwise you could have quoted M6 VS a CL55.
Anyhow, you did not quite see the logic in my answer.
I would not compare a 750i to a CL55. I would compare a 750i with a W221 or a CL55 with a M6.
CL-Class are made with a specification to be soooooo EXCLUSIVE for the very demanding individual who will NOT compromise anything less in terms of ownership status, luxury and performance (ones with the AMG badge).
The CL-Class is on top of the S-Class and 7-Series.
Since you have brought up a decision for 750i and a CL55 with no other background information of what car you have previously owned /are currently driving. Or are you into a sedan or a sports car?
Therefore, that left me no chance but had to quote an example using CL500 and 750i. And, I did not expect that was my recommendation to your original question, not I would expect you will take my advice to choose a CL500 which was not your original desired car.
You simply had a certain degree of freedom to quote a generic opened question and we certainly have a degree of freedom to reply.
I thought I had replied correctly, none of 750i and CL500 were wise choice and the choice goes to CL55.
Next time if you require a simple multiple choice answer, please indicate clearly or create a VOTE thread. I did not come here to give advice and ended up to be taught how to give an advice and I hear no "thank you".
Have a nice day.
