Hi all, what do you think would/should be a fair price for an 05 CL65 with about 10K on the odometer?

Thanks for your input....

Low 80's??? Not even close, not sure who would tell you such a thing. You won't find a used CL65 for any less than $100k.

I agree, anything in the $80's is salvage, flood title,etc... A Nice example of a CL65 (which they all should be, since they are new) Is still in the $100-teens- $120's..... for a under 15k miles car.... Low $100's may get you something with some miles on it, but I doudt it... You talking about nearly 50% depreciation in a year??? That is insane....

Actually folks, $100k - $105k is the going rate right now for a used CL65 with under 15k miles on it. There are some listed above that price (which they will drop over time) and there is one listed for less than $100k ($99k) with only 13k miles on it.

I was watching a CL65 earlier this year which ended up selling for $93k in April (nothing wrong with it, just a tough market).

The market will get worse with our CL cars and everyone just needs to make a personal decision to keep it and enjoy it, or sell it and move on.

The most recent 2 sale listings in Manheim (the largest auctioneer in the US) show one for $90k and another for $86.5k (higher mileage). Those values are down $10k from March of this year and will continue to drop over time, just at varying rates.

It's not going to get any prettier.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Darren

Pictures?

BTW, think Noredline's looking to sell not buy. He already has an 05 CL65. He probably wants to know how much he can get, that 80k remark just sent him into cardiac arrest!

There is one on ebay now with a no reserve auction.
Has more miles(23000) and originally listed for over 190k. Three days left. Its getting a lot of action but is still at under $80K. Writeup says the car is perfect with no paintwork or damage of any kind. It will be interesting to see what it goes for.

In case anyone is interested the No reserve CL65 on Ebay went for $84850. If I hadn't just bought an E55 this would have been very tempting. The car looked like it had some fairly bad swirl marks in the paint but the description says perfect. It is amazing that this car would depreciate over 50 percent in 2 years. I copied part of the description for this car and am pasting below.

"This auction is for a 2005 Mercedes Benz CL65 AMG! This 65 is a one owner lease return and is immaculate bumper to bumper, it is %100 original with no previous paint work or damage history. There are no dings, dents, or scratches of any kind and the wheels are free from road rash. The interior is just as nice with no stains or weird smells. Car comes with all books, tools, keys, keyless go card, and has just had a brand new set of Michilen Pilot Sports.
This CL is fully loaded and comes equipped from the factory with the comfort package, heated/cooled/pulsating seats, keyless go, hands free phone, disctronic, navigation, 19" wheels, and sunroof. This car had an original MSRP of over $190,000, This CL is a one owner California car and is in immaculate condition with no issues or stories at all."

CL65 on E-bay
I looked at that auction just now.

Man that is a great deal for that car.

When I was shopping. Went SL55 2005. I saw a couple CL65`s that were
very similar. Off lease single owner CL65. 2005. Everything was over $100K.
That was in June. The high end car market is starting to feel the effects
of the Real Estate maket slowdown. Its going to get worse as all the
crazy RE people downsize to Audi`s and Jag`s and bail on there leased
AMG`s. No Sales=No AMG.

I think that was the one I noticed that he debadged the V-12 Biturbo on the fenders. However, he put back the V-12 in the side molding, as on the CL600. That would make me really question whether it was in fact in an accident and the guys throwing it back together didn't have attention to detail on such a rare car.

It may have been in an accident, but if it was it didn't show up on the Autocheck. I had some uses left over from when I bought my E55 and ran one on the car for fun. It came back clean as a one owner lease.
