Like in 2003,that would make the current CL/S63 absolutely worthless.
I doubt it, besides last time around the CL55 and CL600 came for the second model year, not the first one as is the case this time. I'd say for 2007, 2008 and 2009 the CL will stay the same, and 3 years is roughly half-way through the production cycle of the CL's typical 6-7 years. Originally Posted by absent

It's awesome. Just have an issue with the rear end of the car. Doesn't some how look it fits in.
I think if they put the S class rear end to the CL would look much better.

If you're referring to the star in the grill that looks "blacked out", that is because the car in the picture is equiped with Distronic. The 2004-2006 models look the same way when they have Distronic.Originally Posted by jsloan01

this car is gorgeous inside and out, although I have mixed feelings about the rear.

CL63 is missing about ~200 lb/ft of torque down low. Only ~360 lb/ft available @2000RPM, the full ~465 lb/ft comes only at 5200RPM. This car will be slower than a CL55.

Couldn't agree more. It would be silly not to spend the extra $10k or so for the CL600 to get the V12TT with 510HP and 612TQ available from 1800rpm.
Soon as my kiddies are out of their car seats, I may be looking for a low mileage 2008 CL600 to which I'll add Renntech ECU and airbox (640HP / 775TQ) and a full Lorinser body kit

exterior and interior dimensions for the cl 63. i have googled extensively and all that the press is doing is regurgitating the tech aspects of the car (which are impressive) but i don't know if it is based on the short wheelbase S class (which the US will not see) or the long wheel base car.
many divergent impressions of this car, but i think it is drop dead gorgeous! i had pretty much convinced myself that the M6 was going to be my GT car, but this car appeals to me on so many different levels. i am captivated. i also like the 63 powerplant....imagine that! to atone for my obvious lack of taste allow me to post some pictures i have not seen on this board (as soon as i see how it's done).
there is one more, but imageshack is uploading so slowly i am out of time.
