SL55 wheels on rear of CL65...are lugnuts the only problem?

I picked up an 18" 5 spoke SL55 wheel for cheap on ebay, and test fit it (without a tire) on the back of my CL65. It seems to fit fine, but the CL's lug nuts protrude too far through the SL wheel, with not enough thread to get the wheels tight.

Has anyone successfully run SL wheels on the back of their CL? The rim itself seemed to clear everything OK. I need some traction!

Your CL has 19's right?

From the MB website, SL55:
Wheels Aluminum-alloy standard. AMG ultrathin-spoke monoblock. 8.5J x 18 front and 9.5J x 18 rear.

Tires 255/40 R18 95Y front, 285/35 R18 97Y rear, high-performance.

CL65
Wheels Standard composite 8.5J x 19 front and 9.5J x 19 rear.

Tires 245/40 ZR19 front and 275/35 ZR19 rear, high-performance.

Yes, these 18s are just for drag radials at the track.

I thought the front calipers of CL65 won't clear anything less than 19" wheels? The rear between 230 and W215 has different offset, but I'm sure 18x9.5 rear off SL will fit using longer bolts (I got mine from HRE wheels)

Thanks for the info. I just want to use the rears at the track...will stick with stock 19s up front.

What size tires are you running on the SL rears? And how much did the bolts cost you?

275/35/18, the bolts were free from when I got the HRE 20s. But I'd say no more than 8 bucks a piece.
