MB Turbo cars...

Im just wondering why the MB turbo cars dont have boost gauges and the like. I've never read anything in the forum about boost gauges, turbo timers, down pipes, waste gates, etc. Is there a reason that no one ever talks about these items? Seems like these are all things that other turbo cars are upgrading/changing. Just wondering...

I would assume it is the nature of the car. The majority of 600 owners could frankly care less about boost pressure, just the look, feel, and butt-dyno reaction. Still, it would be great to work it into the nav screen somehow.

Pretty much like the above post states, different crowd, different priorities.

I woul love to be able to see boost on the COMAND display...but then again, I also am one of the few that actually dyno'd and drag raced their cars.

I suspect a clever MB tech or someone like Renntech knows how to find a submenu with a boost reading, much like "dyno mode."

I guess I was more or less wondering why people dont mention anything about changing any of those parts (waste gate, down pipe, timers, etc.) I assume it could be that 03+ 600 owners can do a simple tune and add 130hp. The ability of producing 600+hp on just a tune and not have to monitor too much is pretty nice.

ya that would be pretty sick if there was a 600 or 65 with like a blow-off valve...

I'd like to see those curves, and what the SAE correction factor was that day Adam. Mine made 559/660 stock, SAE corrected.

I'll try to get a printout when I dyno the car tomorrow after the exhaust install.

I believed the SAE correction factor is 5.
