cl65 for 79k...
been thinking about switching to a cl65, this one has the CLS55 wheels on it..... anyone know if the wheels are the same size and fit perfectly? They look good, and probably weigh less than the original 65 wheels....

Looks like a good deal, go for it bro!!!

Then get the Kleemann ECU/TCU upgrade, Kleemann LSD, Renntech strengthened transmission package, and you're good to go with over 750+ Horsepower!!

I wonder if they fit right. Make sure before you buy.

That's a great price. The CL and S65s are getting so cheap I don;t know how much longer I can hold out. Are these mods the agreed-with best combination? What does the stregthened transmission pkg entail?

The best combination for the 65/600 in the states so far is the Renntech ECU/TCU + CF airbox.

new it was at least $186,000, considering the original price, these 65's appear to be bargains if you don't mind driving the old body style, and untill you buy it and it drops again in value....
but really, how much more can they drop? I think people will alway pay up for a v12 twin turbo engine making the massive amounts of power and torque... they key is how long you can keep the car under warranty....
I don't think I could buy one unless it was a CPO car with extended warranty intact.....

I think we can all agree on atleast 1 thing with this CL65
I think we can all agree on atleast 1 thing with this CL65, and that is that as soon as you buy it, immediately go to your favorite authorized Benz dealer and buy the extended factory warranty asap!!
The Carbon Fiber airbox from Renntech, yes I forgot that one, definitely get that also
Actually Adam, as far as power is concerned, I've actually heard from my local dealer that 800 horsepower has been seen on some 65's that've had work done on them. 750 seems reasonable these days, considering that most likely the tuners have learned how to extract more out of them than when they were first introduced to the market.
How much power does Treynor's SL65 put out now?
And what has he done to it so far?
As far as Renntech strengthening the trans, you'd have to call them to get the exact technical details of the work done, but supposedly it's essential if you're gonna have over 900 lb/ft of torque at your disposal day in/day out. And you know you're gonna wanna gun the crap out of it and smoke as many bimmers as you possibly can every time.

I believe that Treynor has RennTech ECU/TCU and Airbox as well as a RT Exhaust.
I'm sure if the cats and downpipe were modified that you could get some more decent gains out of the v12tt.
I love the CL65 and I can't wait for my lease to expire so I can pick one up. I just hope I can get a good warranty.

As you can see anything with miles (over 20k) and the V12's dive. Originally the car just dropped in value because it was grossly overpriced and I believe but dont qoute me, that those drops have flattened out. And what I mean is that drops will occur as with all cars but the super depreciation has already come. Of course they will still fall but but mileage drops will be more involving too.

I am seeing 03 CL600's and S600's in the 30's
lately I have seen a few of the v12 monsters selling in the mid 30's with 40-50k miles.... same car as 65 as we know pretty much... so if the 65's are in the low 80' high 70's now...for those that are selling anyway... then I see them hitting the 50's real soon....out of warranty and older body makes for a not so in demand car.....

I'm praying to find an '05/'06 black CL65 with warranty 9-10 months from now lol.

Hit the enter key on my last post...SORRY!
Almost traded my new cls 55 in for a 05 CL 65 at a MB dealer in So Cal. It looked so good and with a price of 92K with MB CPO. It was hard to not do it.
The only concern if buying a CPO make sure its (since I went through it):
1. 1 Owner Lease turn in
2. Put on lift and check for any body work (take a magnet with you)
3. Check for repainting
4. Check for excess seat leather rinkles..sign of a real fat person or just alot of miles beyond the spedo.
5. Obtain a print out of the service record to make sure not a problem car.
6. Obtain a car fax report.
7. Have the dealer put in new plugs, air filters, change trans and rear end oils-this is a great for the final negoitations.
8. Get a discount on the extended MB warranty.
If after all this, if it is still a go, you got a great deal.

Warranties
When I purchased my 2004 CL600 I got the extended warranty from Easy Care. They made that part of the deal. MB warranty is up 12-05-07. It's a 30 month 30k mile Total Care package. The deductible is $200, but that's nothing compared to any kind of a repair on a V12. The original cost of that warranty is $2300. I asked about the 48 month 100k warranty and the cost of that was $5k. Since this is only my weekend driver I'll go back to them in 29 months and purchase another 30-month 30k mile warranty and be ahead of the game by 1 year. The cost of the warranty goes up considerably after 60K miles but I assume so does the amount of time it spends at the dealership.
