Jason, how'd you launch the car?

ESP off or on? Dyno Mode? Loaded the tranny and let the turbos spool? Mashed the throttle or eased onto it? Burnout? You have great 60' times so seems like you got the perfect launch method down.

So far none of these I have run across in Dallas live up to hype. They are fast but I've seen faster.

Yeah I think a Volvo would be much faster, and by far more luxurious

let the hater know this my car stickered for 139K new, it was then modded by the previous owner who added the ecu/tcu and 19" wheels and tires, never driven in rain/immaculate, he traded it in for a new W221 S65 and i purchased it for half of its original cost with full starmark warranty til 100k miles. Its a zero down lease under my business and since delivery i have only spent 637.00 on drag radials

You have arguably the fastest CL out there IMO. I will get mine dyno'd next week so we can see where my powerband stands.
haha thanks brother , there has not been alot of CL65 so please post some numbers up, i still cant get a torque reading

I posted the real stinger after (1) of these clowns went on about ludicrous Merc pricing, & it better be at least that fast etc..I educated him on the pricing of these 2003-2005 CL600's mid 40's thru low 60's used, then add the ECU/TCU for 5k ect.. they still don't get it,

Funny majority of the Vette owners from these sites, are kinda warped truely befitting of some of the names I've been called here since allocation of my C6, they are old 60-80 yrs and having a late mid-life crisis feeling as if there 16-18 yrs old again in there dream car a Vette thinking there faster than anything on the planet, truth is until I truely educated myself on 1/4 mile times of the AMG 55/65, & 600 Bi-turbo models especially modded, I too doubted some of this forums claims of Super Car speed! Not anymore

Don't get me wrong what initially drew me to the C6 was gorgeous exterior styling, 2 door coupe w/removable roof etc..I love it but will eventually move back into a Merc!

I don't blame you. The C6 is truely a badass, especially in black . Even though I'm more of a euro guy, I have been really tempted to jump into a new C6. Just for that price, I could get a Benz V12TT

Set them straight Ricker, you are a true enthusiast. But you had to know the power of the Bi Turbo before Jason's factuals .... right??

Either way keep it real like you have been- a vette owner who likes benzos.

Thumbs up More evidence that buying a V12TT is better Bang for buck

This is another proof positive that buying a V12 TT is going to get you much more bang for the buck than getting any of the V-8's, including the new 63.

I'm still curious though what will happen when Kleemann puts their supercharger on the 63, and when AMG adds their twin-turbo's to the 63.

Also, don't forget that MB most likely will come out with a new twin-turbo V-12 in next 2 to 3 years that will basically be the new 550's V-8 plus 4 more cylinders and twin-turbo's. Maybe they'll call it an S650/CL650.

I knew of the 65 and 600, (also I thought if you thru a blower on the C6 it would be 10's high 9's all day long, BS!! lots a guys running blown C6's are running mid 11's the painfull fact is Benzos added weight does promote needed traction and that ='s unarguable results) to be honest I never really gave much thought to the reality of the stock C6 being so much slower, really took it for granted that it would be a beast like the out going C5 Z06, Certainly NOT! GM fukd that up! Damn thing weighs the same, same power, but little tweeks like bigger wheels, smaller tires, run craps, torque management, ect make the C6 on average almost a full sec slower in the 1/4 than the old Z06

Although the new auto A6 C6 has recaptured some of that speed! latest track slips put a couple bone stockers at 12.15-12.20 outta the box(yes east coast sea level tracks) obviously due to the stout gearing people in the know say it's final drive ratio is = to 3.90-4.10 diff

But even if it was as fast as the old Z06, mods are cheap etc..I have to say modern Benzos have it all! I like the outlaw feeling the C6 brings loud obnoxious exhaust, evil looks, etc. But the CLS, E55 211, CL 03' up, SL 03' up can be modded (exterior) to another level of evil that includes something the Vette will never have CLASS, and a world class interior outta the box... Sorry Vette brothers it's the truth.

Are you kidding? C6 Z06 all the way & even though the C6 is slower than the C5 Z06, I wouldn't even bother w/old C5 styling, tech, everything about it besides out've the box speed pales in comparison.

I actually like the C5 ZO6 more than the C6 ZO6 but driving a 427 powered sex on wheels is also appealing but idk it would be tough for me considering i love the flip-up headlights and longer c5 body and the price difference also plays a huge role

Each to their own, but yes price wise no brainer! Don't get me wrong it's still has evil, sexy, shark like lines, are very similar to the present C6, just not my style, looks to dated now w/the newer C6 styling out. Funny the main things I don't like about the C5, longer body, dated pop-up lights, got you revvin' Makes this world all the better! go for it!

C6 Z06 all day every day! I just went for a spin in my buddies Z06 and I'm considering putting both my cars up for sale to get into a C6 Z06! If I do, it will be modded to the tilt.

Bro! I can list pros & cons on each, but as far as SOTP overall handling etc, @ 200+ more ponies than my C6 it's insane, this is in my buddies Z06 C6 in Vegas flat out terrifying/violent doesn't come close to describing the ride, he gave me a little trip I'll never forget...(modded w/ 575 rwhp heads, cam, headers, dyno tune, etc..)5th gear feels like 1st in mine As far as traps? I know Ranger has gotten damned close to 130's
