Your "friend" (who works at a dealer) is asking about $30-40,000 too much!

Adam

That asking price gets the WTF award.
At that price that CL65 will be sitting at FJ for a very looooooong time.

Still looking...
Yeah, that car is priced into the stratosphere.

I was willing to pay $90 for a 98% conditioned 05 CL65 with 4700 miles on it(until I found out it had square rims and the seller was untruthful )

What is a good price for that low of a mile car?

I'm with everyone on this...you could have got a new 06 CL65 for less then that when they were still selling them....a used 05, even with low miles will go for low 80's if that

I have seen SL65's sell for less than that. Does this car have some kind of special "package" on it?

I don't think anyone here thought YOU set the price, but you are a knowledgable aftermarket vendor who should know that $129,000 for that car is absurd.

Its pretty ballsy to post that here and not think you would get the responses that you have gotten.............people that use these forums are not the same schleps car shopping on MBUSA.com

Right...

A couple of MBworld members have already contacted me privately and I have told them personally on what I think the car should sell for. Just to clarify further, there's nothing in my post states that I support the asking price.

Good luck!
In defense to Adam. Those prices you posted are apples and oranges... The CL65 is probably the most mileage sensitive car I have ever seen... To compare a 20k-60k mile CL 65, to a 1700 mile CL65 is ridiculous..This not even mentioning, those numbers are WHOLESALE figures. And WILL be marked up 10-15% upon retail.

Sometimes you guys are your own worst enemies, with regard to killing the value on these cars...

Adam,Good luck with the sale, that car looks pristine...

You can get one with 13K miles for $80,000..............are you really saying that a car with 1700K miles is worth $40,000 more??

As for these prices being WHOLESALE figures............not really anymore, go to any auction and there are alot of RETAIL buyers with "Dealer licenses" or retail buyers who show up with a friend who has a license.

Lastly no-one here has anything to do with "killing" the value of these cars....these cars are simply a commodity now.

Mercedes "killed" the resale value all on their own by diluting the brand all on their own......sorry!

Thank you Sir!

JLP, the last time i talked to my friend, they were willing to accept 108,000 for this car. Oh yeah, and the mileage on the car is really 1,165 listed on FJ website. So who knows, they might even accept a lower offer.

Agreed, this guy probably bought a few Ferrari's before and walked away from them even. You can put 1700 miles on an F430 and sell it for more than you picked it up for.

But you CANNOT play that game with Mercedes.

Yup, I was at Manhattan Motorcars yesterday and they had a black F430 spyder with almost 2,000 miles on it going for $320,000. They also had an '05 red 360 spyder going for $170,000.

They said it was very typical and the reason is because Ferrari has mastered the age old principals of supply and demand (plus they make a sexxxy car).

He revved the F430 for me and as much as I love that distinct Ferrari sound, it should have been louder. Then he revved the new Gallardo Superleggera...that thing sounds like it means business.

Manhattan Motor Cars is NOTORIOUS for having those kinda cars for FAR more than you should be paying.

I dont care - an F430 Spyder, used or even Brand New, should not be $320K... thats rubbish!

$170 for an 05 360 Spyder? lol thats BS too.
