yea but much more affordible than the SLR

I think at 200K, they will sell some units, only $50K more than what im paying for my CL63 and $30K more than what I'll have into her after mods.

'05 SL 55 Black/Black w/mods from Eurocharged/Kleemann/BuckheadImports
It will be faster than those stats

most likely it will be alot faster than 3.8 seconds to 60. And the power very might well be a bit over 700 HP.

twin-turbo will still mean easily tunable to much more power for sure.
And regardless it will still be a devastatingly fast car.

F430 is much better, although it will have to be used at a $200k sticker.

McLaren is building their own car to compete directly against this. Most likely due to costs they will be forced to use the same engine, except it will be a mid-engined layout.. as in behind the driver.. not some front-mid b.s. If McLaren is as good as they were than I think the McLaren product will be far superior to the SLC as a drivers car.

Mercedes engineers needs to spend some time driving an NSX. There's no replacement for a proper mid-engined layout when you're trying to build a drivers car.

They deff need to build this!!!! Awesome!!!!!

Only thing I'd like to see...... The the 1st pic's front end ie bumper/hood/rearview side mirorrs integrated onto this supercar Bugatti/R8 looking masterpiece in 2nd pic below!!!
Never liked the camel nose SLR front end...

This 2nd pic w/bigger rear end needs the 1st pic's bumper/hood = Perfection

The 1st pic looks a little to much like the SLK55

What The Hell Do They Mean?????

I just read a sentence at the end of the article mentioned above that upset me a bit What the hell do they mean by this:

"What this means to you: The Mercedes SLR McLaren has turned out to be the supercar no one wanted; now AMG is getting its chance to prove that it can build a better car than the McLaren"

SLR is the most PERFECT car I've seen. It is a piece of ART. Who would NOT want an SLR..... Everybody wants one......

They don't know what they're talking about !!!!!

I'm pretty sure that sales of the SLR didn't go too smooth. That's why.

But I agree, I love the SLR, one of my favorite cars. Classy, badass, and dramatic looks with Mercedes finess. Love it. Things like being built with McLaren, carbon fiber body, carbon ceramic breaks, and gullwing doors are just the icing on the cake for the SLR. And the 722 just took it to the next level. But like I said, I don't think Mercedes was able to sell all SLRs and they dropped in price and would sit on showroom floors.

The SLR has its strong and weak points. After having owned a Continental MK III I will never again own a car that has such a long hood. One feels a bit stupid creeping out from stop signs in a 600+ HP car. If I had the money, I might nevertheless spring for the new convertible. It looks better and would be more fun to drive. Plus you could listen better at stop signs ....

The new SLC looks like a smarter concept. I hope they get it right. I like the left thumbnail a lot better. The right one looks like a cross between a camel and a turtle.

I talked to Rob Allan from AMG yesterday and all he could say about the SLC was that the photoshops and renderings out now don’t look like the pics he has of the actual car.

There is more to racing than 0-100 speeds so I wouldn't draw any conclusions as of yet.

Aside from the fact that the 911 Turbo is trully an awsome car that can easily be chipped/tuned to monstruous proportions.
