Congrats

Did you opt for no Distronic...or did they have parts shortage? (Noticed the Parktronic "bulletholes" in bumpers...which are eliminated when one has Distronic)

BTW, curious what tires is AMG now spec'g on 030s....which brand did your 030 get?

My June build has ContiSports; noticed Aug build CL65s seem to have Yoko ?Advan....vaguely recall AMG engineered a bespoke-spec tire for CL63/65 (calibrated vs ABC/chassis/wheels) in collaboration w/Yoko....but also heard rumors AMG would begin using Pirelli ZeroHeros (tires spec'd on 599s) on AMG CLs

Something on 4 wheels..
Congrats - very nice ride!

BTW, what's that badge shown on the last picture of the Carbon-trim? Looks like it shows the AMG-symbol.

Possible to make an additional close-up picture?

well, I saw a white/black CLK black they had at this same dealership a few months ago and wanted the same performance oriented design. Carbon fiber interior trim and the lack of essoteric electronics that dont add any value to the car and are near useless to me.

As you know the black series eliminates all those electronics, luxuries and back seats. Even the seat adjustments are manual. Sometimes I feel a performance car can be bogged down with too many creature comforts.

I opted out of distronic, and P2 in fact (namely night vision). I really doubt I would use either and thought that $5K could be better spent elsewhere.

The OEM tires are conti sports.

My car still stickered at $150,300 and I got my car -$2k off sticker because i befriended the manager. The have a black one on the dealership floor that they are trying to sell for $10K over. It's their last allotment.

Thnks again guys for all the kind words and Ill post more pics of her tommorow with the wheels and brake calipers done.

Where did you get that intel from? Parktronic and Distronic were on my last two cars and they both have those "bulletholes" as you call them for Parktronic. The sensors need to "peek out" somewhere. While the Distronic aims forwards, the Parktronic looks forwards and backwards; therefore the Distronic, even with low range in Distronic II, cannot replace the Parktronic sensors.

And who cares about the people who see your behind (!). They have lost anyway. Whoever sees my front will back down.. quickly.

Cheers

True on ancient-tech MBs ('08 SLs or last-gen S/CLs)....

On '07-'08 S/CL, DistronicPlus entails no bulletholes (radar for both Distronic/Parktronic is buried underneath bumpers).....cosmetically much more elegant (and unlike any car on mkt today).....functionally, a major active safety advantage, as DistronicPlus is linked to BrakeAssist (and now also incls BlindSpotAssist)....personally, never drive using cruise ctrl but very much appreciate the Distronic/BrakeAssist feature as part of the AMG active safety net....great stuff...

I raised parts shortages as a poss since MB has periodically had these issues....e.g., several early '08 CL65s didn't have (std) Distronic and offered a silly credit on window sticker....a fast-depreciating $200K car lacking basic safety/cosmetic features that many lowly $100K MBs have....and they wonder why they have inventory glut/poor sales issues.....

The CF interior really helps the interior out quite a bit. The standard wood interior and layout just look too much like a Buick interior to me.
