If the car is in great condition, single owner, no repaint, and if the car is an early or mid 2006 MY car (which means more than 24 months on factory warranty), then $70k would be an okay deal.
Dealer auction prices right now is about $60k.
I have a fully loaded 2005 CL65 and really love it. I don't think 75K is unreasonable if it is in great condition. The auction prices are about 10K lower but many of these cars have more miles and probably a fair amount of rock chips and door dings. I think 70K would be fair for a 17K mile car but you may lose the car for 5K if he doesn't negotiate. Think about it and good luck.

Did you check out this ebay auction? The car doesn't have the parktronic and distronic but maybe you could get it CPO'ed by the selling MB dealer for the same price that this other guy is asking.
