I'm kind of a gadget freak and audiophile also. The CL's head unit and stereo sux! I have this vision to get a full leather interior 3LZ package Z06, pull out the head unit, and replace it with a high quality after-market one that has an I-Pod integration, front and back cameras, and a Sirius radio tuner. Of course change out all the speakers and add a nice sub-woofer. Next I would pull off the stock wheels and get some custom ones from 360 Forged. Finally, I would get some either bolt on upgrades or just say F-it and add a supercharger for some sick HP. I guess next comes the 25 y/o girlfriend who works at Hooter.
I could possibly keep my CL65 if I got a used 2006 Z06 as they are getting damn cheap now. Something to think about.

Also adding supercharger to C6 Z06 is very unreliable (that is why they are using the new 6.2 liter engine intead of the old 7.0 liter) they have very high compression... You're better off w/bolt-ons and very solid/reliable 500+rwhp
Both cars would be ideal

I have done this to my C6..... Pioneer 6.5" Navigation touch screen/bluetooth/ipod/sat radio/3-d birds-eye view, back-up camera another screen built into the rearview mirror, plays dvd movies etc... It's only a wknd car, long drives SUK!

Do you really think the Z06 would suck as a daily driver? Seriously because I need guidance. For me it is not such a big deal because I live only 2 miles from were I work and the longest trip I take is about 30 miles to Miami Beach every few weekends. I have got to somehow keep my CL and still get the Z06. Tell me what you think of this one:

It looks to have a new intake and already 2 subwoofers installed in the back. Check out the pictures. Scroll down because there are more pictures on the bottom.

Your head unit and setup sounds amazing. I would love to see a picture. I agree that bolt ons would be the way to go. It would keep the car reliable and add just a bit more torque and HP. This car screams already so a better intake and a tune would be just icing on the cake.

Trust me if it's your ONLY ride you will start to hate on it, it's way too violent for everyday driving, very FUN for a while but trust me, I've had all types of cars, here are some pix of the head unit....Also what you want are Headers, & Dyno Tune = 500 rwhp on Z06

I'm not a fan of that color, & there are plenty Z06's for same or less price w/a lot less mileage...

Thanks for the advice. I figured it would be fun at first then annoying if I had that as my only daily driver. I'm not a fan of the Orange either but I like the fact it already has aftermarket speakers, I-pod integration, and a Breathless Performance intake. I'm probably going to keep the Merc. for now and see if I can somehow have both. It wouldn't be much of a problem normally but I'm suing my homeowners association and my attorney bills are like 1K each month on average and this has been going on for over 2 years. Once this is settled then I will have some extra cash for a 3rd car. Great head unit by the way. Thanks for the pictures. Apsis has a full carbon fiber package. I think you should do all areas of your car in carbon fiber. Thanks again.

I need opinions. I bought a used 2005 CL65 AMG 6 months ago and I really do love it. However, I'm feeling a bit unsatisfied because I'm an aggressive driver and the CL is not a sports car. I'm starting to really like the C6 Corvette Z06. I know I'm comparing apples to oranges. The CL is fast, comfortable, refined, but a bit boring. The Z06 is a true sports car and definitely more fun to drive yet the fit and finish has nothing on the CL. I guess I'm asking you guys if you think I'm nuts to get rid of a perfectly good CL65 with 2 years of warranty left to get a Z06?
You are an aggressive driver who loves MB.... so the solution is....
63 ///AMG BLACK SERIES simply the best of both worlds

I know I know! I had a 2003 Millennium yellow anniversary edition Z06 I bought new. I loved and hated the damn car. Down here in South Florida the traffic sux big time and I use to hate having a manual gear box. I also love the manual because I had so much better control over the car and it was a lot of fun. I got rid of the Z06 because of these reasons and the interior was horrible. The new corvette leather interior is pretty nice and it's easy to get a quality bluetooth phone system for hands free calling. For now I'm going to keep the CL and if possible get a Z06 also. I just need to clear up a few financial string and I'll be good to go (I also need a strategic way to tell the old ball and chain I'm getting another car).
