cl63 cf rear difuser
If any of you are interested you can puchase a carbon fiber rear difuser for your CL63 from your MB dealer. It's part of code 773 and can be bought seperaly for $1470. I just odered one and the lead time from Germany is two weeks. I'll send some pictures after it's installed.

Do you know if the other parts of code 773 can be purchased here as well (mirror-housings, front spoiler coverings, cover of handcontroller)?

When it comes to the interior, the CF-trim isn't part of the 030 either - the trim is a stand-alone option.

I'd love to see some pictures of these diffusers. Does anybody have theirs yet?

Just checked with my dealer...seems like CF interior trim is not available on 09's inventory list anymore...can anyone double confirm this in case it's just not showing on my local dealer system ?

the dealer now says that eta for rear diffuser is end of April, thats 5-6 week lead time, better be worth it!
I've been thinking about why we buy a car like the CL63 03. It's got to be one the most if not the most well balanced FUN car to drive with buckets of style and attitude. Sure you can buy something that's faster and less expensive but that's not the point. We should applaud MB for being so audcious. This car is not for most people but for the few that it hit on the head and can afford it, WOW!.
Anyone see the new Bently Brooklands - now that's a fine automobile.

The car is black and so the cf doesn't show that well in pictures. Come to think of it, of all the compliments that I've received about the car nobody has said anything about the difuser. So maybe, unless it makes you feel good to have it not much reason.
Ony advantage that I can see is that it protrudes out a little more than standard part so it covers more of the exhaust pipes that get very dirty and so you don't have to clean them.
Here is my last video production where if you look closely you can see it.

ieb, guess each of us has different defs of "stealth missles"
I hate ever having to visit dealer (though a great dealer/salesman/SA that have treated me well for many yrs) for anything aside from picking up another new CL65....replace rear tires at 6K mis and hope to be trading in 65 for another new iteration (sort of like my rapidly-obsoleting Blkberries) before anything more serious in terms of time-consuming svc nonsense arises
Thankfully, CLs are arguably among most robust/reliable/glitch-free cars on planet today, despite easily being highest-tech cars anywhere (compare vs relatively glitchy, yet archaic, latest GT2 or 599 or Scuds)
Really should test-drive 65 on a busy but fast fwy (don't know if such things really exist in Bos/NYC/Chic), but 65 makes 63 seem rather loud but embarrassingly anemic/ischemic (and damn slow!!!) on any major, fast fwys on SF Peninsula....cf trim or not

Hello WSH:
Well I can understand your position. For me it’s about balance and what satisfies me. I’ve driven a CL65 and I pass on it. I don’t drive at high speed and so that’s not important. I felt the 63 was a little weak off the line and so had Renntech redo the ecu and problem solved. My other car is a 997 2S Cab which I feel is extremely well done. Same thing where I could easily have the tt but why bother.
While I'm on Porsche, I hope that VW takes good care of it. What really drives me crazy is the bizarre list of options that makes putting an order together a major headache. I think that they should limit options to “packages”, but that’s just IMHO. And how about that implosion at Porsche, one of the great corporate blunders of all time. Talk about hubris!
Still feel that 216 AMG CL is best car on the road period. Biggest decision that I’ll have to make is next year when the lease is up. Do I buy it out or give it up? Have never owned a car over 3 years old but this could be the exception.
Had dinner the other evening with the Duke and Duchess of Jambon and they positively LOVED it!
