Have they cheated me??
Hi,
Just got my new 2008 CL63 with full options + 20 inch AMG forged wheels. However, I was surprised and disappointed when I found out that the steering wheel is without the aluminium shift paddles & instead it has the gearshift buttons with the wood steering wheel. It was identical to my 2007 CL500, which I have sold it recently.
I thought the AMG ergonomic sport steering wheel comes standard with all AMG CL cars.
When I have checked with the MB Dealer, the guy mentioned to me that all new AMG's don't come with aluminium shift paddles any more!!!
Is this true? or they have cheated me??

Wow. I think your stealer is full of s***. Did you purchased the wood steering wheel as an option? The 63 AMGs should all come with paddle shifter as a standard equipment. So unless the dealer swap out the AMG steering wheel with the wood and tag it as an optional install, you should have paddle shifter on your steering wheel. Just look at your manuel, it should shows you the paddle shifter.

Where are you located? I wonder if MB delivers different options for different markets.
In the US, the only AMG CL model that comes with the wood steering wheel is the CL65. Maybe you got a really, really good deal??!!

Looks like your wheel was swapped for a wood wheel from a cl500/550. If they wanted to put in a wheel they should have used the wood wheel from cl65, with paddle shift.

As said before, no wood wheel MB makes will have the silver paddles. I would check the sticker to make sure a wood wheel wasn't added, but if it wasn't you NEED to go to the dealer and demand the AMG wheel.
