Nitrous Kit for CL55
Anyone know of a mfr or company that sells a kit for the 55 motors? The EVO 9, 4 cylinders are VERY fast. Don't like losing to them... Time to make some engine mods.........

Good luck getting anybody to touch the motor once you've installed juice. Especially a direct port set up which I would go with if I were as crazy/brave as you may be. You don't need a kit specificially for your car. A direct port kit for a V8 mustang should work similarly.

You don't need nos for beating an Evo if yours is the Kompressor 55. They stop moving above 100mph.

Sprint Booster will get rid of the drive by wire- throttle lag...
I would not put Nitrous on any car that was a daily driver.
NOS is meant for drag cars that are only driven a qtr mile at a time-
Nitrous makes the fuel burn much too lean and hot- this will cause tremendous wear on your engine...

Its not worth it at all. If your motor blows, you will have to pay $40,000 to fix it just so you can beat a stupid evo? Upgrade to a CL65, then you won't have any problem with those pesky ricers.

This EVO runs 11.3's. Obviously not stock! I have the Kleeman ECU and pulley already installed on my car. Kleemann headers are on order and will be here later this week. Any other performance parts you guys have had installed that will make a big difference with the car? All feedback is welcome, positive or negative!!!

Dude you dont want to put nitrous on a mercedes benz, let alone a CL55 AMG... If anything do what the people said before, ECU/Pulley
If the evo people say anything...just ask them if they realize that their in a lancer evo and your in a cl55...

Nitrous is an oxidizer. It chemically adds oxygen to the combustion chamber. You add fuel to compensate. Properly tuned, a sprayed car will still see 11.8 a/f or so at wide open throttle (the only time you would spray).
As for your hot comment, thats funny, because nitrous can actually be used as a chemical aftercooler. Of course higher cylinder pressure results in higher heat, but the added unburnt fuel cools the chamber just fine.
Nitrous is just like boost, if you don't tune for it properly, you will have an expensive paperweight. If you keep the a/f conservative and the timing in check, you should be just fine (assuming you aren't exceeding the mechanical limits of your rods, crank, etc.
P.S., what the hell are you doing street racing anyway? who cares about evos. If you really want to race every kid with a turbo 4 banger, buy a turbo'ed 03 mustang cobra and have at it.

More O2= faster burn rate which in turn increases burn temp. Add additional fuel and you increase the amount of force created in each cylinder which causes stress on all other internals as well.....
My point is you WILL wear your engine out quicker with Nitrous than you will without it. DUH!!!
If you want a car to drag race in -buy a drag car. If you want a car to race -then buy a race car...MOST Mercedes Benz's are not made for this purpose....They are meant to be luxury vehicles.
I said MOST- there is the new Black Series of course! 8-)

I didn't come to this board to be lectured. I came here to seek knowledge from individuals more educated on the mercedes benz than I am. If I want to street race, that's my business not yours. I welcome INFORMATIVE feedback, NOT criticism. I like to drive, fast, period. That's why I bought the 55. If I wanted to sit back and cruise around in my "benz" I woulda bought a 500. Thanks for your input.

i say do all thr bolt-ons you can, then add a 75-100 shot of juice to give you an edge. make sure its tuned an installed right tho. i dont think that the boys in germany built these cars with gobs of hp/tq to ''just'' cruise around in. that would be boring.
