Ever wondered why MB service is so expensive?
My CL65 came up for service some months ago, I have left it because it's only done 16K and was serviced at 10K. However my MOT has run out
so I thought I would have the service done at the same time.
There is nothing that needs to be done, no problems to look at, yet they
quoted me £1100 for the service. At the end of the day all you want is the main dealer stamp in your book. I asked to speak to a service guy who
I had dealt with before, and gave my number. He called me back later,
I told him £1100 was too much, I was short on cash and would have to
hunt around for a better price. He immediately said they could do it for
£500 inc the MOT. Great I said. I now wish I had haggled each time in
the past. I am sure all garages are crying out for work.

You've got an SL55, a CL65 and an S600 and are short on money?
Are you sure you've got your priorities in order?

Read the original post again. He told the service guy he was short on money so he could get a better deal.

service business is doing fine in some places, but others are hurting and will do whatever it takes for your business. Owners and GMs are telling their employee do whatever it takes to keep business and make the client happy!!

Hi, with the credit crunch money is a little more important.Originally Posted by Fraser

I just can't justify spending £1100 for what is basically, oil,air filters,
charcoal filter, and poly belt, especially on a car with 16k on the clock.
I may have 3 cars , but I still don't want to throw money away.
Anyway this thread was to help other members get a deal, and not how much money/cars I have.
