What's the function of the third Pedal by the brake/Door? it's not the first time i've noticed it on a Merc

I have ordered a white/charcoal SL55, but the CL55 is sooo nice that I am being tempted to switch it.
Those wheels are awesome, I like AMG's so much that until now I've been unable to convince myself to buy other wheels.

It was until 2003. On the CL55, due to the F1 wheel with the shift buttons, the wheel is all leather. I would bet we will see a wood/leather F1 wheel for 2004.

2003 CL55

I've had an Alabaster White/Java CL500 Sport since Sept 2001 and have found that even though it may not show the dirt as badly as a dark color, it still has to be washed often to look clean and polished. The Java interior requires quite regular cleaning. The Meguires leather cleaner from MB is the best for the interior and the Zaino Brothers system is the best I have found for the exterior.
