Rather disappointing depreciation for such an exclusive edition. Love that paint!
The two tone brown/weird tan interior is not a very sharp nor flattering color.
I'd rather see the Designo black leather interior with contrasting porcelain white quilted leather seats and door inserts as seen on a handful of CL- and S-class.
I'd also like to see either a silver carbon fiber or turned aluminum trim in the interior than that rather common looking CF trim.
I would also would like see more exclusive options on this Limited Edition, such as Panorama Roof, 4matic, special wheels, etc.
Is it worth $300,000? Definitely not, but MB is banking on its exclusivity and that beautiful paint job to charge the $100,000 premium over the regular CL65, and there are 40 people in the world willing to pay for it.
But these days conspicuous consumption is un-PC and frowned on.

I know it is a moot point for buyers at the original price points (like Berman said, pocket change), but imagine the surprise down the road for the 2nd or 3rd owner when they get a quote for scratch repair on that fancy grey finish.

Wow I never thought of that. Kinda the same with potential service bills for anybody that buys a cheap biturbo MB right now.

Takes a special moron to pay >$100K for any used 65...or any used car for that matter
New, '09 CL65 is <$200K and is prob worth <$100K on trade-in (no matter miles) by Fall09 (if not sooner w/mid-cycle-revised MY10 on the way)
Biggest problem of trading in $200K+ cars in this credit crisis is that many dealers (and wholesalers) lack the balance sheet capacity to buy the damn car at any reasonable price, so sellers are sometimes stuck w/consignment BS, which can take many months (w/capital costs accruing to seller) in an illiquid mkt
After all, no one needs $200K+ new cars....let alone costly, obsolete, disposable used cars

Here in the Netherlands about half (a bit less) of a nice car is tax. Scandinavia is even worse.
