Out dated phone...
Cheers

Is this not the case?
Question?? With the old Timeport I was able to be alerted to a voice mail message waiting with a series of tones when starting the car. With the V60 there is no letting you know that a message was received. Is there a something I missed in setting up the V60?

Thanks awiner, but I was under the impression that our phones had some sort of "chip"from Mercedes inside them so it could integrate and interact with the car's computer.
Is this not the case?

awiner I have a cl500 v60 phone verizon service how can you tell you have voice mail. my 2002 s500 had a little envelope in the right corner of the screen . In this car the only way I can tell is when you have the radio on every couple minutes it has a brief pause in the music sure enough when you open the hand set in the arm rest it tells you otherwise nothing let me know thanks........

At any rate, you can go into your phone and enable a sound alert when you have voice mail so you get that instead of the "mute" every few minutes. That is the best alternative thus far.
Cheers and thanks, awiner.

I'm going in on Saturday and picking up my new V60 phone, cord and cradle. Apparently, (and this is what I was told) there's no need for a new PSE. The phone, cradle and cord are the only parts required for the upgrade, and they will plug into the existing 2002 system without a hitch... I hope Mr. Parts Department is right, I'd hate to find out he's wrong while I'm sitting in the waiting room having the cradle and cord installed.
Cheers and thanks, awiner.
Picked up my new MB V60 phone, with cradle and cord. Had the PSE upgraded. Everything works well, except that no one can hear me at the other end of the phone...argh
Will have to go back when I can leave my car so the service Dept. can figure out the problem. More at eleven...
