Quote: Kenpho10, You know, I thought about it. I have a white car and have a white rear spoiler on it now. I was just afraid that it would just be too much C/F ! If my car was black or gray I would of been in !
i'll stick with the white spoiler you have right now cause your interior is also on the light side. but at less i try

Good luck, there are about 4-5 people including yourself that want one now after the project has been funded. Everyone isn't going to be able to get one since there are ONLY 10 being made, that was the whole deal to sweeten the pot and make this an even more desirable piece. I know it sucks for some, but this was a 2 plus year mission to finally get this made. Good luck to those who want to acquire one, this is going to be an awesome piece for an amazing car.

I don't know much about this whole plan but wouldn't the manufacturer want to make more than 10 to make some bank. Isn't that what he's in this for? To make profits? If there are 10 more people who want one, will this company not produce more to satisfy demand and sweeten profit outlook? I've been reading waiting for pictures to see what everyone is buying. I have a black on black 65 and I'm sure I'm going to want one as well.
It's not sounding good if it's just 10!! Dang! If they made 25, it's still a very limited product and retains the exclusiveness originally intended with this plan. A two year plan I read. Qty 50 would still be seriously exclusive.

I don't know, I haven't seen the diffuser yet, so I can't judge it. But I have a feeling its going to look very brilliant, looking at the other parts he's made. It's an art what he does with these carbon fiber parts. Making everything fit perfectly while looking like something that could have came from the AMG factory. That's a skill, and you have to have a very balanced eye to make things from nothing.
It took over 2 years to get this made. I'm sorry but 50 or 25 isn't as rare as 10 at the end of the day.
I wish Neal see's this diffuser as being a rare sought after art piece for one of the most beautiful Mercedes ever built, rather than a way to just make a couple bucks. Knowing the work is appreciated. It took time for this to be created, and after finally went through, I believe it should be as limited as it is. Not trying to be a jerkoff, but making it a scarce item was part of the deal to get this done.
"This is a limited production part, and will be making this exclusively for this group buy and NEVER be selling these again after the 10. Each part will be numbered and have a serial number."

That would take away the whole point of this being exclusive. Unfortunately, it only sounds bad to the people who want one and did not get one at the start of the group buy. But the reason this is exclusive to 10 is clear, we were not going to make this part if it wasn't for the 10 members who put their trust in us. With that trust in mind, and the fact that this was funded by the 10 orders to be able to complete the project, we are very loyal to those 10 people, and show it by keeping it exclusive to those who made this happen.

Hey Guys, sorry for not responding earlier, I was not in the office most of the earlier par of the day. The diffuser got its first shot of gel coat, it is not even dry in the pics. The gel coat fills in small holes from the manufacturing process. It now needs to get sanded down, then sprayed with a primer. Then we make the mould from a nicely finished smooth part, becasue as you see, gle coat is very thick and wavy.... This is technically just called the "plug". The mould is what is made to actually from the shape of this part and allows us to reproduce an exact copy.

The diffuser looks awesome. I posted the pics in black and white, because the "plug" is an odd color, and i wanted you to get a better idea of what it looks like with all colors matching. I hate to even post pics of the process, because often times most people cannot really tell how nice the final part will be from these early pics, or even more, how nice it will look on the car when complete. But I figured I would show you something. It was not even attached well in these pics, it was on by 1 thick 4 inch strip of double sides tape. Once the mould is made I will have 1 part in carbon fiber made, and we will test fit that on a car, if all is good, 2 weeks later all 10 customers diffusers will be completed! and shipped!

Looks great and how I was hoping it would look. Chrome exhaust tips will set it off nicely and it will definitely compliment the lines of the CL.

Awesome job Neal.

Wow! Awesome looking diffuser Neal! I can only imagine how it will look in carbon fiber on a whole car! This is what I'm talking about! Thank you for the pics Definitely know what you're doing
How long of a process is it usually to sand, prime, and fill the mold with the carbon fiber?
Excellent work at Euroteck

Another update. I went yesterday and found a used CL55 at a dealer lot. I took a measurment from the side of the bumper to the exhaust tip, and it seems like with our diffuser wrapping around the side, it will be VERY close to touching the exhaust which we do not want. Also, after looking at pictures of CL55's, it seems like a lot of the exhaust is in slightly different positions then others (which is often common in many cars). With this in mind, and the risk of it touching the exhaust, we decided to play it safe, and today we cut the sides off the diffuser and are re shaping them, and the diffuser will be shaped more like our E63 diffuser.... I will have a new picture in maybe 2 days, won't take long to re do the sides....

This picture attached with the red arrow points to the area in question.

Aww that sucks, the sides of the mold looked like it would have been really cool wrapped around the exhaust pipes. I trust your judgement, keep us updated :

We are working diligently to get this done! Yesterday, we finished modifying the fins. I was not happy with the way they first came out, so we added more definition to them, and even carried the shape to the bottom of the diffuser, and over all just cleaned up the fine shape. I can say now that I am VERY happy with the way they look. Possibly some of our best fins yet! By tomorrow the sides should be finished modifying. Then we are good to go and make the mould! Although we are now behind schedule, since this will be such a limited run, I wanted to make sure it is all 100% perfect!
