Hey Beast, if you are looking to sell the E55, let me know.

Also, have you looked at the CL600 for under $20k in the classifieds here? 25k miles and super clean.

I'm not selling my car until I know I have a new one. I love my car like my right arm (the jerking one. lol)

Im not a fan of the 600 engine, though that is a great price. But between my car and a CL600 I'd rather hold on to mine.

The 38k car in houston

The warranty is gone on that car...it needs new tires...a couple of wheels are road rashed (based on a member and I have seen the car at the auction when it went through) ....and I know the best they might due is $45k PLUS PLUS PLUS...because they paid close to that for it.......after you buy it you will be into a warranty ....which is gonna be expensive because factory is gone...and new tires and wheel repair...you will be at an easy $51-52k on the car .....not a good deal....a good deal was buying my CL65 with 15k miles...full factory warranty for one more year...all options..brand new tires , perfect wheels...and a one owner-zero issue car....for $54k......it is a $7-8k more car ..but you are paying the same or less on mine ........do the math ....the better car is always the best car...it looks like you are paying less on the 38k car but you are really paying more...

Be smart guys.....Dont buy one of these cars or any AMG without a warranty and needing ****....I buy the best cars out there...options etc. and needing nothing...and I AM a member here....my costs are fair and I dont jerk anybody around...

If someone doesnt buy from me they are spending more and getting less....

M

correction

A PPI is a "Pre Purchase Inspection" not a private party inspection.

PPI is an absolute must on any V12 MB!!

If there is something wrong it is very expensive to fix.

I sold my 2005 Cl65 for $90k a little over a year ago. At today's prices they are a good deal but you better have a contract on it.

Super clean? I wouldn't say so. Salvage history, a title that notes it has 70k+ miles, stolen....

How critical are the miles on the cl65 engine ? Does anyone know the life expectancy on these engines ? Since it is a forced induction, I guess I am concerned about the rings and the turbos. Especially since the turbos come on so early and all that torque is available at such a low rpm would seem to stress the engine more as it would seem that nearly everytime you give it some gas the turbos probably spool.

I ask as I am shopping for an 05 cl65 and I see mileage ranges all over the board. Obviously the lower milegage units are more expensive but not by much. If the exterior and interior condition is equal, should I pay 5k+ more for 10-20k miles less ?

I think the most important aspect is the service history and how many miles you have until things need to be replaced. The cars with the higher mileage are probably closer to having such things as brake rotors and pads needing to be changed. That job (for both) is about $3K for just the fronts. A lower mileage car (under 20K) may just need the pads changed ($500-600 job at an MB dealer). So there is a tangible value in getting the car with lower mileage.

That is some interesting advice. I tend to look past small maintenance costs, But with the cl65 the maintenance might be so costly that I should no longer regard it as a small cost in the equation.

Does anyone have any data on when the turbos need to be replaced ?

Now there are at least two cl65 on ebay that have dropped in price to $41k.

This is crazy, are we going to see them break into the 30's soon ?

I see 2005/6 with bids around 41k but not prices (or buy it now) of 41k. Which ones do you see with that?

the CL65's available for sale are drying up

I sold my car 3 weeks ago for $55k........getting a clean CL65 is going to be next to impossible real soon...for any decent price....miles are of no importance as long as the car is maintained correctly....my 14k mile car was no different then my 44k mile car I sold...both were as new in ride and drive......

This may come to a surprise but they only built 194 of these cars....

You rarely see CL65's come into the national auctions...maybe 2 a month....compared to say 20-30 Bentley's a month .....

there are over 1000 Bentley Gt's for sale right now in this country....

there are only 14 CL65's for sale in the country....

oh by the way a flint grey car just sold at auction in seattle for $37k....it had frame damage and 51k miles...no warranty obviously....so these cars have hit rock bottom...and are not going any lower...

picky buyers will never get to own a CL65 ..they will just dream and regret

That is strange, I did a search and couldnt find them. Went to my laptop and did the same search and found them.
Ebay listings are screwed. I just looked and these are both owned by the same dealer.
Maybe that is what is pushing the prices down, nobody can find the cars to bid on them.

So I emailed you about this car before bought mine....... are you just an internet only dealer or do you have a store front?

I settled for a 05 with 15k miles for $3k under your asking price... not saying that it was a better deal, but I did not want black.

I am a dealer .....no storefront...I deal mostly AMG's

My car had all options...and 1 year left on warranty

Keyless,parktronic and Distronic..

Options are as important as miles on resell....a car without keyless will be a ***** to sell later....

...Black is the number one on resell but not everybody's choice....

the flint grey is on autotrader....wrecked ...sad but wrecked car

Thannks for all your opinions and advice guys, I havent been on because of midterms and a short movie that I'm making. In addition to searching for a CL65 I've added another potential car to the list, 996TT. Like the CL65, it's not a modern body, but I dont really care. It's a great car, just like the CL65.

Obviously the 2 cars are very different, but both are perfect in their own ways. So now I have three possible options: the CL65, 996TT or just keeping my E55. Considering my LSAT classes start on Sunday, I hope I have enough time to do the amnt of research that I'd like to do.

Lol. Be nice. You can't really blame the guy, if they made less than 200 of my car I'd be excited too.
