Higher Mileage CL65AMG or lower mileage CL600
Could you CL guys give me your thoughts on this? I may be switching from my E55 AMG into a CL600 or CL65. I really would like the 65 AMG, but the lower mileage ones are still out of my price range. Here are some ones I am looking at now:

My advice is to buy a lower mileage car and make sure it has a warranty, better yet find one at a Benz dealership and make sure its Starmarked. For the most part these cars are mechanically reliable, but man if there are issues its very expensive to fix. I know 30k-40k seems like a small acquisition cost, but if it breaks or has issues, you are repairing a 130k-170K car. I hope that makes sense. I paid a bit extra to make sure my car was starmarked. My rear dif just went out and the part alone was 5K. Repairs like this, although extremely rare, are the ones you want to avoid without a very strong warranty.

A Mercedes obviously!
I'm on the lookout for an '04-'06 CL600/S600 and have to say those two you picked out weren't exactly bargains. There are some much better ones out there. Newer, with less miles and for less money.

the CL65 and the first link on CL600 both have after-market wheels that do not look consistent with the classy image of the CL, imho. near our car dealer, i've often seen those oversized wheel cars in the streets of oakland w/ guys blaring rap music - certainly not the image that most MB owners can relate to. in fact, this imagery is one of the reasons why the CL doesn't appeal to me as much as before(bummer).
the 3rd link has after market wheels but at least it looks more quality.
that said, i agree that the prices do not seem low, especially if there's no starmark warranty. good luck.

lower mileage
Heya
I always choose to be on the safe-side of any investments. So for me, lower-mileage is ALWAYS the best choice. I have a friend , he just paid 13k repair on a blew-up engine on his 3 years old BMW-M5. Damn, it's scary..

Both cars are FANTASTIC ! but i have something in my gut, telling me a lot of dealers / individuals will go belly-up in the next moths, as economy fails to improve for at least 2 years (heloc - dried-up, arm/alt-a loans reseting, unemployment skyrocketing, all the funny-money disappeared) - so THE BEST DEALS ARE YET TO COME, especially on the high/very-high end market cars. Patience is a virtue. I am looking for a MB myself, definitely a SL or CL.
On with fun !

Both cars have awful non standard wheels. The 65 wheels are very
expensive. However the mileage is not too different so it's the 65
every time. You must get a warranty with either car though.

I am also in the market for a 03+ CL55/CL600, I seen these 2 particular models go as low as $20k Retail on autotrader.com with reasonable mileage around 50-70k Miles, keep looking, those 03s you listed with low mileage are not worth the price.

Those 2 sets of chrome wheels are actully not as bad as could be, they are AMG 63 chrome rims and lorinser turbine wheels, if you think that's bad you havn't seen what them homeboy rappers put on their cars. lol
