CL55 AMG - Possibly the best car in the world..but how can it look even better?

Guys,

My finance deal is about to come to an end (July 09) on my CL55AMG (late 2002 facelift model). I was trying to figure whether or not there was actually something else I want - and I've decided - that I honestly can't think of anything else I'd rather have than this baby!

The acceleration still scares the living daylights out of me even after a year so I certainly don't need more speed. It's hard to get something more luxurious too - so I've decided to keep it !

However - I'd like to modify it to make it look EVEN BETTER than it already does and was hoping for some advice. Bearing in mind - I'm on a budget !

1) I want to put 20" wheels on it. I like the AMG 5 spoke alloys (split rims) with the nuts all the way around it. Any ideas where I can get these wheels either second hand or cheap?

2) I once saw on this forum and never found again - a CL55 with double foglights on the front. So right now we have one light on either side - on this car there were 2 lights on either side. Does anyone know where you can get this done?

3) In Dubai recently I saw a CL55AMG with a rear spolier on the boot and also a spoiler that was like a "roof" spoiler - above the rear window... Any idea where you can buy this from or does anyone have one on their car and have a picture of it ?

4) I've already asked a question on the rear diffuser but does anyone have a picture of it on the CL55 AMG on the model previous to the brand new one.

Any other modifications (non engine) that anyone knows about that can make this car look even sexier??

Bear in mind that I live in London, UK.

Thanks a million !

This is a two year old thread. Also, the picture of the rear carbon fiber diffuser is photoshopped. I'm not sure why it keeps getting posted as if it's real.

I didn't know it was cool to pretend to have ABC failure.

I hope you don't drive like that.

Agree I just do not get this wheel and other Left Coast stuff.

Why gild a lily?

Spend on maintenance and the AMG driving school. Debadge it for free. That is my choice.

Whoa there, that white CL sitting on the ground isn't "left coast stuff"...we tend to have much better taste than that. The AMGs in Southern California are almost always tastefully dropped with nice wheels. The lo-rider look isn't universal.

You geniuses don't know about the height positioning button on your CL's? the car is in the LOWER position-----I lower the car when its parked, and the wheels are not my personal taste, bought the car with these, i currently have my stocks on-----thanks for your opinions i appreciated.

since you have an 02, here is what i did to my old one:
adjustable air ride lowering links for lowered raked stance-$325
03+tailights-$600 used
brabus style 20" wheels/tires staggered w/ minimal lip-$2000
window tint-$120

i would suggest 19" cl65 wheels, but goodluck finding a used set w/ tires under $4000.
beginning:

end result

Sorry man, but the car looks ghetto. I think it's ok to modify but the drop so big makes it look bad. It's slammed to the ground to where you're probably dragging oil pans (and no, the lower setting doesn't drop it that far unless you did something besides that). On the other hand, it's your car so you can do whatever you like.

Personally, I would be embarrassed to drive it like that.

This, on the other hand, looks very nice.

Debadge it on the sides and rear. Spend the money on tires and super maintenance.

Thank you, for the honest opinion, i was considering removing that window spoiler, but i think the side spoiler looks great on the car, the wheels are also not my choice, car came with it, thats why im sporting the stock AMG wheel right now, and no the wheels did not rub at all even in the lower position shown in the picture. New pics will be posted soon.
