Honestly I would guess 200+ with everything deactivated. Motor Trend got an unshackled CL55 (a mere 493 HP) up to 187 mph, where a second limiter kicked in. An extra 100+ hp should be enough to theoretically push it over the edge, assuming the tires didn't blow up or the car didn't achieve liftoff

That sounds like race qualifying. We already mentioned that Mercedes-Benz had kindly "deactivated" the CL55's 155-mph speed limiter, and we were all slack-jawed when it laid down another 32 mph--matching the Viper step for step. When excited calls were placed to Mercedes to share the good news, what was their reply? "Of course. That's what we expected. Because we only removed the first level of speed control, and the second one tops out at 187.
Thanks, guys. The ueberBenz impressed everyone with its casual serenity at a buck-eighty, especially considering its size and mission as a luxury/performance coupe."

Klaus Ludwig (3 time LeMans winner) took a delimited development CL65 to 208mph at the DiamlerChrysler proving grounds.
