vrp cl65 vs. cammed 540rwhp c6 zo6...who wins?
from a 60mph roll to 160+
i currently own a modified 2006 c6 z with cam, intake, exhaust and tune.
(540/495). i have been wanting a cl65 for a few years now, i just dont think with it modded with the vrp825 it can beat my z. the car is nasty from a 60-160mph roll. i know the 65 has a nasty top end especially when modded. i know of only 2 vrp c65's- jody's and markos running high 10's@130. is the
vrp825 kit a night and day difference from just an ecu tune?
i have 1 run in my z after the cam swap on street tires-
da +3500ft 75 deg in vegas
60ft-2.0
11.4@128
there has only been one modded cl65 here in vegas that i know of running a best of 11.6@121 with full exhaust and kleeman ecu.(you have all seen it racing the red c6z on youtube bridge to bridge)

Well, I know Marko's and Jody's cars are nutsa as theydid 10.7 and that was nuts. Im a Corvette fan as well and a Cammed 06+ Z is no joke. On a power to weight ratio scale, you're what 3,175lbs, that shell really helps, putting you at 5.87lbs/rwhp. Marko's car did 692rwhp/912rwtq, if the CL65 weights 4700lbs, its at 6.79lbs/rwhp. You definitely got the weight advantage but insane torque is on the side of the V12 TT, it would be a good run b/c traction, gearing (auto vs. your wide 6 speed) and weight all make up a great race. On paper though the 10.7 second CLs should be ahead of your Z basing it on 1/4 mile runs, it would be great to see the race.
BTW, I find it scary that a 7.0L V8 can get close to 30mpg on the highway when cruising and 16-18 city. The C6 and especially the C6Z is a beast on all levels. Great car, incase the race doesn't turn out what you want, I've seen SC'ed C6s and Z06s hit 600+rwhp with ease from SC Kits without the use of a cam and on pump gas.

I did not get to dyno my 65 since dynos don't mean much to me. The best dyno I have seen is the 1/4 trap and ET's. Marko or Marcin did dyno the 65 witht he VRP kit and put out close to 700rwhp with nearly 900rwtq, we ran nearly identical times so power should be somewhat hand in hand.

Given that, you have to look at gear ratios as well as lbs/hp. That will tell you the true picture of how well a car will perfrom against another. Driver competency will also play a big part of the race between the Vette and the Mercedes.

i tip the scale @ 3100lbs and have a 100 shot on tap if needed. i just installed 345 mt et streets so i think with a good 60ft i should see very high 10's. the reason i ask is that i want to get rid of the z and get the 65. i would like to sell the z first then pickup a 65, but their are not too many clean, low mileage, black ones left. i would like to have both, but that would be costly
