drag racing the cl65 this friday. any tips?
drag racing the 05 cl65 this friday the 4th. i come from a long list of racing corvettes and camaros, but racing this car is something new to me and i want to know what i can do to get the most out of this car.
the car may have an ecu tune on it as i have hit 160-170 on 3 ocassions.
i did purchase some drag radials also: mt 245/40/18 going on 07 s550 wheels 18x8.5.
91/100 octane mix?
launch?
mode?
weight delete?

U seem to have the most important thing covered which is the MT's, warm them up pretty good, and they should stick like glue.
I like to drop them to 18psi, also raise your suspension to highest setting for weight transfer to rear. You could also brake boost at the line around 1200-1500 rpm it the front doesn't move. Always run on dyno mode- its a must.
Almost forgot..bring a lot of ICE!! Ice her down every run, take engine covers off and drop bags everywhere in engine compartment, cover turbos so water doesn't get thru with a cloth or something, I have heard some stories. Let her rip and hold on tight!!
Have fun and post up your results.

I would not use any fuel other than what is recommended by MB!
You do not want to risk detonation and burn a piston or possibly worse...
I am pretty sure the car was probably tuned to run no-lead premium fuel that can be had at any service station. If it was not....then it would not run as well as it does now.
