Newbie with some performance ?s
Hey guys.So i didnt do my homework and bought a 07 CLS550.I LOVE the car,but i want more HP.Im already bored with its 400 stock hp and iv only owned it for a week.LOL.I know i shouldve bought a AMG and im regreting it now.But as i understand the 55 AMG is the same motor 5.5L V8 just with a blower(kommpresor)??I would really like to beef this thing up.Is there anything i can do?Thanks everyone

I would not recommend the aftermarket supercharger route. Lots of guys with the last gen M113 215 CLs ran into major motor failures after adding the superchargers. The suggestion of switching out the car for a CL63 actually makes sense to me too. If you read the Mercedes-AMG main website, you will see that AMG moved away from superchargers completely to naturally 6.208 liter aspirated motors M156 in the CL63.
You can do a few things first though, to see if you an quench your thirst for power:
1. ECU programming - not much horsepower, but the car will have nicer pickup in the midrange, more responsiveness and the gas pedal will feel more jerky :-)
2. Better air filters - K&N, stock air box is pretty nice enough already
3. Lighter main pulley
4. Switch out the exhaust manifolds to headers and upgrade the mufflers to get an overall more free flowing exhaust system.
This should bump you up from 382hp stock (somehow you've convinced yourself you have 400) to maybe in the 410-420ish range, but more importantly/noticeably - the car won't be sluggish and will react to throttle immediately.
