The "late model" CL65 weighs too much (4,800lbs) to probably satisfy your friend's all around automotive needs. The more mileage you put on it, the more value it disproportionately drops...and also increasing the frequency of higher maintenance costs. You probably want a "cheaper" car that you can put serious mileage on (the less room for the car's value to plummet). So that makes it advisable to do a two car scenario. Get a "cheaper" (both maintenance and original price) sedan for the serious road work (CTS-V perhaps) and a sports car for the fun days. The 997TT holds its value decently well (but admittedly not as well as it has in the past).

This is probably not going to help...but if I had a $100K or so burning a hole in my pocket...I'd get this classic

Porsche 993 TurboS: I'd totally re-do the interior and mod the engine a bit......but that's me.

Love the 993TT....and you hit the nail on the head with the interior re-do...that is the only downside on that car.

P.S. the 993 Turbo S had "holes" in the rear fender and yellow brake calipers.
