Fast cars in general....
Unhappy Selling 2006 CL65

I had no plan to sell the car yet but it all started after my wife and I took a visit to MB dealer. One of the sales guy offered a test drive of new CL63 and my wife was completely sold!!! I too was impressed with the ride and handling not to mention the new electronics and sleek body. But to me, it's still a 63 and gives no thrill (in acceleration) like 65. It sure is more balanced and engaging car than the W215 CL65 but I would take 65 over 63 anytime. Anyway, a long story short, my wife wants to DOWN grade her car to 63 and stay with current. I tried to convince her to keep the 65 but she says 'no way jose'. So, it's official... Our baby has to go I'm not rush to sell the car so I'm open to any reasonable offer...

Here is a car info.
* Year: 2006
* Exterior: Alabaster White
* Interior: Java (beige)
* Mileage: 19K
* Fully loaded except Parktronic and Distronic.
* Roof and rear deck spoiler
* 3M clear bra
* Mechanically/Aesthetically in perfect condition
* No accident, paint, dent or dings
* Fully serviced from MB of Anaheim
* 2nd owner
* Warranty 'til Dec 2009
* Only 40 (white/beige combo) produced world wide
* Evotech ECU/TCU upgrade to 556whp
* $ 75000 or best offer

and here are some recent pics...

Women and cars. I tell ya. My wife thought the E350 was a better car than the E63 because the E350 is 3 digits and the 63 is 2 digits.

Hey Greg long time no chat and good luck with the sale but I have a bad feeling that the money on the 06's is well under your asking. Its actually more than a feeling but you might get lucky since you have kept your car in tip top condition and I have seen it in person. The car is a rocketship too.

As for your wife wanting the 63- I can totally see why: arguably better looks and the latest model. Does she really care about 556 rwhp? I know you do but she probably just wants to drive in style, the most current style at that.

Hey Vic, a long time no talk. how's it going? Did you know that you have the baddest looking M6 in So Cal? My friend with M6 and I talk about the runs that we did in Mexico all the time. We should get together again for the 997 turbo and Viper match up Anyways, the time has come for my 65 and I'm going to miss her more than anything I've owned so far...

Maybe just get rid of the wife and keep the car? Just a thought. Money wise you would take a huge loss (almost as bad a selling the CL65) but you would be able to keep the car and think of the possibilities if you were single again. Obviously I'm just kidding (sort of). Good luck with the sale.

I was selling my car about two months ago and had a buyer from Germany. It was legitimate. He was going to give me $80K for my car and was just about to wire the money to a local car dealership who was the middle man for the transaction when I backed out of the deal. Apparently this guy has bought a few cars before without a problem in this manor. The dealership buys the car for him and ships it to Germany and he pays the dealership a fee to do this. It is no risk to you because the money gets wired to your bank account before you give up the car. Let me know if you want his contact information as I still have it and he really wanted an older model CL65. I backed out because I just love my car even though I would have recouped most of the money I paid for it. I have no regrets. Good luck with the sale and contact me if you want his phone number.

I think $75k is a very reasonable price for your car. It is true that you can buy one(similar mileage 05') in the low-mid $60's, but yours is an 06' and it's White. I have seen the White CL65's bring in much more than any other color. Stick to your guns, you car is worth very close to what you're asking, if not more.......

I agree. Chicago Motors has one listed at 83.8 right now and they got it from a local dealer who last had it priced at 77 and couldn't move it. I bet Chicago sells it at about 80.

What a gem in white! I'd keep it for sure! There is just no comparing the V8 to the V12 biturbo.

Thanks Larry, I'd appreciate if you can PM me the phone number. And I know exactly what you mean by you couldn't find the replacement for the 65... I thought my wife would appreciate the 556whp 'beauty and the beast' but what can I say? IMO, women and HP don't go together...

Correct! Most women don't get it when it comes to the hp. They just want the style, they just don't get it for the most part.

I took a different approach, when my wife wanted a R class, she was going to settle for a 350. I told her to test drive both the 350 and 500. She felt the zoom zoom, and so I found her a 500 and she never looked back.

Good luck with moving her, I know you don't want to part ways.

I'm under impression that white cars are not particularly popular in that part of the world. I've seen very few white cars in Europe. Don't get me wrong I love white as thats the color of my cl, just something I noticed there.

the key here will be the color and low miles... Yes, there are some cheaper.. but in alabaster with that kind of mileage? Not too many... The Alabaster will be your ticket to the sale.. good luck

Sucks to see it go, but whatever happened to the videos you made with my E55, and Vics M6 against you and your buddy. I would really like to see those, particularly the run we did form a dig, where I beat you 0-160

Interested in your CL65

I am a serious buyer for your CL65. Not sure of the protocol here, how do we contact each other ? I am from NJ and just as an FYI- I noticed on Dragtimes that V12Godspeed has raced in Englishtown NJ.

Would love to talk to him as well.
