I'm starting to wonder if my Oil Level sensor may be bad...?

I decided to change the oil in the CL tonight.

Bought 10qts of oil, pulled a MB oil filter off the shelf (mental note, that was the last one, time to order up some more), whipped out the Mosler vacuum pump, pumped the old oil, installed the new filter, added the 10qts of oil, read it on the dipstick as right on the level, added another .5 qts, and decided to see just how accurate the Oil Level sensor is...

This is what the oil level sensor tells me with 10.5 qts of oil and the motor off (had not started it yet with the fresh oil in it):

Then, for S and G's, I started the engine. As you can see, according to the oil level sensor, there's always around 5.5 qts in the pan with the engine at idle.

Reset the Oil Service indicator, selected the proper oil spec, and called it good.

Will have to talk to my Service guy next time I'm in for major service, see what he thinks. Until then, what do you all think?
