Couldn't wait much longer. Visited the MB dealership, they had a 2010 CL65 that I test drove and decided to order the 2011 CL65 the same day. Now the torment begins...

Cool! Congrats! What are the specs for your car? Did they give you an idea how long it would take to get built and arrive?

Palladium Silver; Black Ash. The dealer pretty much gave me a guesstimate when it would arrive. I should have a more accurate number in one or two days.

mine arrived on November 27 and the sticker was 154k I did not order the extra options like lane avoidance or distronic, I ordered heated steering wheel and package 2 I know how to drive the car. Anyway, its a huge difference between my 2008 CL 63 this motor gets 15 mpg in the city when left in c position it has on/off which stops engine running at a red light and a hold button so you can take your foot off the brake pedal at a red light. Car does not have 1k miles yet and once i hit the 1k i can hammer, Right now it really rocks even in c which gets you started in 2d gear. I love this car its as smooth as my old 2002 Cl 600 which was just as quiet

Can you compare with 08 cl63 in ride comfort(bumps, poth holes),dynamic, interior quality,do you feel the TQ compared to old version?
Which sound do you like more?
Is 15mpg in mixed(city/highway)?
Do you like Start/Stop function? Is there any way to turn it off?
I dont know why, but i`m sure that new 63 with tune will be faster that 65.

The bomb

This car is the bomb - driving it makes me feel like I just found the founatin of youth - I can see why the CL class has the most MB customer loyalty of all the MB vehicles offered. Once u drive something like this u can't settle for less...

The 2008 was a much harder ride. The steering in the current model is flawless and with ease. I compare this to my wifes 2010 ML63 which is harder to steer i think because the truck tracks the level of the pavement. The interior is unchanged in appearance, the up/down buttons for the window are different. The navigation is upgraded but the interior is basically the same. I live in Chicago the city not the suburbs so I keep the car in C for the start stop to operate. I do like it because it cuts down on fuel consumption. I am almost at 1k miles so i have not really jumped on it other than a few trips to the suburbs. Remember starting in C is second gear i cant wait to put it in S and jump on it. The 15mpg is city on the highway last week I took a trip to Pontiac illinois about 99 miles from downtown. The highest mpg was 20.9 mpg at 80-90 mph. My 2008 struggled to get 14.5 on such a trip so its a huge improvement. My guess is once I jump on it and the turbos open up the mpg will decline. Also, I am running on 4 Pirelli Sotozerro 20 inch snow tires which i had on my 2008 they are not Z rated. I did purchase the new MB wheel protection program which is offered by MB and much better than the previous road hazzard protection I had. The potholes have not been too bad. I did drive my 2008 for 2 winters without snow tires and I blew 4 of them hitting potholes. I also cracked a wheel which MB welded. Now with snow tires i am doing much better. Like i said in my previous post, this 2011 is as smooth as my 2002 CL 600 which was a very smooth ride. I like this engine so much i am replacing the 2010 ML 63 with the new body style to be released in 2011 and ordering a 2012 ML 63 as soon as MB takes my order. I ordered my CL 63 in July of 2010. I have not seen another 2011 cl 63 and was told by Fltecher Jones MB that I have the first one in the this region another is coming in January. Finally, this car is a torque monster you can feel it in the pedal and it sounds awesome. Again, I love the HEATED STEERING WHEEL.!!!

Indeed. I do not like the styling, but that's a purely personal thing. But I am very much looking forward to trying out the new 5.5 liter TT with factory tuning package. I really like the 6.2 but do miss the lower down power of the the 5.4 kompressor and it sounds like this new V8 will be a more refined and more powerful version of that. High revving NA lumps are a passion of mine but for car driven primarily as a daily driver, I really do like torque heavy engines. If it's good as they say, then I'll be jumping the first dark colored E-class I can get my hands on.

My mistake

Sorry about that, in my eagerness to post that picture, I neglected to realize it could be anything else.

Yes, La Jolla CA. Just have not updated my profile recently.

Also, just saw 2 brand new S400 hybrids a few moments ago. I had no idea those were being delivered to NA already.

La Jolla does afford someone a chance to see most new car classes early in their release cycle.

this car is stiffer not softer, there are several reasons to trade, 1-it is a depreciating asset-2-new twin turbo easy on the gas 3-its new!!!!! the dealer gave me a 73k credit for a car that cost 145 40 months ago which is a dream come true. This new Cl has a much different feel in the steering and suspension which is kept on sport with the ABC control.

by stiffer i mean less mushy like the 2008 it tracks almost like a BMW and as you know, a mercedes is an extension of your mind and a BMW is an extension of your arms. Now I see the new cadillac CTS Coupe with 550 hp and it makes me wonder what it feels like compared to my CL 63 I have owned 3 Eldorados, and a few Boughams in the 90's. I had the first Eldo with the first northstar motor I think it was a 1991 which I traded for a 93 Eldo with upgraded motor. I am a coupe guy otherwise I would have a S63
