AMG 19" Double Spoke, two peice wheels
The Tire Rack catalogue that I received recently has a picture of the new CL65 19"AMG split spoke, two peice wheels. I do not know if they yet stock the Bridgestone Potenza's that apparently are standard equipment on the 03 CL55's in 19" sizes yet, but this is a very attractive wheel setup for the 55, IMO.
Separately, I have heard from a friend in Stuttgart that MB AG plans to export the CL65 to the States, which is of course contrary to recent rumor. Perhaps they want a super morphed out version to match up with the new Bentley Continnental GT due here this fall.

They have the 2 piece 19" for the SL R230. It does not fit the CL or S. How do you get a TireRack catalog?
Any competitor to a Bentley would be handled in the Maybach camp. If there is rumor of a Cabrio there should be a Maybach Coupe. Of course this is an artist's conception:

The 19" double spoke 2 peice AMG wheels in the catalogue are for the SLK. Luke at Tire Rack, who posts often on the MBW wheel forum, said that TR is trying to get the new wheels for the CL and S.
Perhaps I get the TR catalogue because I have purchased tires from them in the past.
You are probably also correct that the Maybach would be the likely competitor to the Bentley Cont. GT. My guess is that the Maybach in coupe form will cost much more than the Bentley. Why the CL65 then?

The CL65 is being built because it can be built, not really to meet or match any competitors like product, IMHO. Last year AMG was building the CL62 from the 5.7 liter V12 and now the CL65 from the 5.5 liter V12.
