Just passed 1000 miles
The CL55 after 1000 miles is noticably more responsive to throttle inputs. It is simply amazing how light this 4300 lb. car feels in the corners. AMG had done a remarkable job tuning the ABC. The brakes, although I have not needed to test them at the limit are very powerful and smooth. Time for an oil change, despite the MB recommendation. It cannot hurt. The Bridgestone Potenza's are surprisingly impressive. This observation after recent experience with Pirelli Asyms on my 02 C4s, Michelin Pilots on my wife's 03 SL 500 Sport and Dunlop Sport 9000's on my 02 CL500 Sport.

Can someone please explain to me the 1000 mile oil change? I'm a little lost as to why people do this and if it is necessary at all. I'm at 1500 miles with no oil change yet. Is this ok??
