Depends on your needs
If you go for a 03 or newer cl55 you get the higher HP...that's what drove my choice.
I just got a 03 CL55 AMG with 55K miles, Original sticker of $120,845.00 and every option for $24,500.00 shipped from Texas to my door in Cali.
It arrived Friday night and today was my first day out in the sun, and boy oh boy this is a fun toy! I had a 04 clk500 convertible that I purchased new, but there is no resemblance!
The power resembles my ex 98 Viper GTS, but this car has class!
Next comes the upgrades!

The supercharged model will cost twice that but be twice as fast.
Mileage is high, but it still has some life left. If you go for it, make sure you either have the money to repair it or to scrap it and buy another car if something big breaks.
