Please help with wheel/tire fitment....
I own a 2001 CL55 and am looking at a new set of wheels but not sure of the fitment. They are 19x8.5 et 45 in the front and 19x10 et 35 in the rear. The rear is my concern... will this offset clear brakes and ride correctly? Also, what is the best tire size for the rears? I feel that a 275 width will be too narrow so I'm leaning towards 285 or 295. Your help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Pete

You should be more concern about rubbing (35mm) than clearing break. At 10" wide, your rim is about 4.4 mm wider than your 275 tire which doesn't look too bad (I currently run 275 on 10" wide rim now). At 35mm offset, you will more like be rubbed if you run 285 or 295. If you already have the rims, you might as well test fit them first before spending money on the [wrong] tires. If you haven't bought the rims yet, I would pass them if I were you.
