MB World Extended Warranty GP - See inside for details
In my case, I'd advise anyone looking for a used one is to do you homework when your looking, to have the car fully inspected before I recommend what I'm doing. Also, if your not mechanically inclined DIYer, I'd probably recommend getting the warranty, otherwise the car is solid. I've spent more repairing my wife's 2005 Honda Odyssey then the AMG..
I'm taking a calculated chance of not getting the warranty and putting away $500.00 a month towards/for that rainy day.. it's been 9 months now, Fidelity account is looking pretty good ~$4500.00 and counting..
About the only thing I've spent so far is new TPMS sensors, pretty obvious they(the Tire Pressure internal batteries) don't last after 5 years, new tires and oil (have my own oil extractor). And will be doing all service and maintenance myself (like all my other toys).
Personally, I'm Never taking it to the stealership unless I'm dragged..or have too.
I'd figure it's alot cheaper to own a AMG supercar then a Ferrari! Doesn't service maintenance cost like $10k on a Ferrari?

To rebuild the tranny is $1800 in our cars. But it cost $2100 in a dodge 2500 pickup to rebuild.
I dumped the TPMS sensors. They are a pain in the ***....
You can buy the struts for $600 each remanufactured with a 3 year warranty for our cars as well.
I change my oil every 3500 miles...... And the car is waxed monthly. But other then that it is just a second car too enjoy at $500 a month.... Best money spent!!!
I have a friend leasing a 2010 cl63 for $2700 a month. Funny thing is when we go out and I park my car next to his at a club valet. My car always gets the second look....he even admitted he should of bought a used w215 cl65 and he would of been happier ..... He like a lot of people felt newer is better.... Just depends on the car .....Maybe because his is black and black hides the lines on a CL......
No one is getting their trans rebuilt for $1800 from a reputable shop with a warranty. This kind of 'advice' is dangerous. Call any Benz dealer, tell them you have a blown trans, and ask them the price for a rebuild. It won't be $1800, I can promise you that.

But when a user comes into my commercial thread (that I post as an MB World sponsor) and tells people that their AMG car is going to cost peanuts to repair and own over the long term, I have an obligation to correct that.
Both for my business' sake and for the people who might take this highly inaccurate 'advice' and then get hit with huge repair bills later.
I'd be fine with his arguments if this were an Acura forum (although he should open his own thread, not post in mine unless he's interested in a warranty or has questions about same), but c'mon! It's totally absurd to post up here that the average super/turbo S-class AMG car is ultra reliable, inexpensive to own, and he's never had one cost more than $500 in repairs.
Give me a break. He even posted his own car's 'never had an airmatic repair' history and stated that it's had an airmatic repair after all.
