2005 CL55
I hear you. Audi rocks! I don't like the body's though..
And I love my 2005 CL55, to me its a classic before its time. Plus its White with Java interior which is perfect for the weather in Miami.
good luck!

2003 CLK430 Cabriolet
thanks for the update. i'm not surprised by the outcome.
mercedes seems to be getting less & less customer service-oriented these days. pretty short-sighted on their part.

Mark4 had a different issue. I think the original is still an open issue.

External Looks
Mercedes does make great looking cars. My CL attracted a lot of attention (some of which I could have done without). It’s too bad the guts of them do not match the exterior looks.
In my case it was a choice between the BMW 760 and the A8 W12. I use to have a BMW 750 and I loved the looks. Chris Bangle took one of the most beautiful cars in the world and turned it into a camel. Then BMW had to add I drive :~( . So it was really no contest which one I bought.

2005 CL55
Well your right. I did consider going to a BMW, but I drove the CL55 and that was it. I still feel slighted but knew when I bought my CL55 that it had everthing I needed and then some.
I guess I got over it because the CL55 is so amazing to me. And as far as BMW goes my brother had a horror story thet blows my story away. So he switched to MB.
For me I learned never to expect anything via trusting any dealership, or information of any type, especially on the internet. The proof is in the pudding. Sit in the car and ask questions, play with every gaget, drive it, read magazines, and wait for someone else to be one of the first owners of a new model.
I even considered the new Bently, but I like the CL better.
I still feel strong about the original issue, and hope I helped others on this forum, be careful of the information on MB's web site, and careful ordering a new year without sitting in it. Paitence is a virtue.

Ha.... this issue really cracks me up.... how the hell can they switch the car if you have already signed the purchase agreement? Purchase agreement is by definition an agreement to purchase one specific item, right?
I'm not a lawyer but I would first argue that the purchase agreement is associated to one specific car whose VIN is stated in the agreement. So... if the VIN is not matched, then it means the same thing as:
- The car has not been delivered
- The purchase agreement is NULL, VOID.
So it means the dealer gave you a car for free (no agreement for this VIN, right?) and you are entitled to get your money back! j/k
Keep us updated.... I really want to see how this issue ends. If the dealer can get away with this, I just found myself a good way to make tons of $$$$....

mark4 first posted on this thread 8/26/04 with a similar issue with his Mercedes. A related issue with Mercedes, but not the same poster.

What happened to him? This one is so obvious, Lifetime TV channel turned it down.
He spent $90K, over the Internet, without seeing the goods, and got scammed. Then he played the blame game. It’s the dealer, it’s the manufacturer, it’s FEMA! That appears to work for a while, but eventually the guy “goes missing”.
Man, follow the clues. His wife murdered him, took the insurance money, and was last seen buying a car (in person) at a dealer.

Hard to be certain but it may be like most buyback agreements where there is a condition of silence included in the settlement. If he pursued this case I would be very surprised if he did not win. It does seem like a movie without an ending though.

Mercedes Scam
I agree. I think it would've been an easy win in court at least vs the dealership. But like you guys indicated they propably imposed some kind of silence notice that prevents him from further commenting on the case

Crap. I just spent 30 minutes reading all of this in detail, sometimes getting confused as to who is who, and then no outcome!!!!
Lock the thread for Pete sake.
You would think sequencecf and mark4 are the same person since sequencecf signed his posts with "Mark" at the bottom of each post.
