Scammed by Mercedes
And I love my 2005 CL55, to me its a classic before its time. Plus its White with Java interior which is perfect for the weather in Miami.
good luck!

mercedes seems to be getting less & less customer service-oriented these days. pretty short-sighted on their part.
Mark4 had a different issue. I think the original is still an open issue.
In my case it was a choice between the BMW 760 and the A8 W12. I use to have a BMW 750 and I loved the looks. Chris Bangle took one of the most beautiful cars in the world and turned it into a camel. Then BMW had to add I drive :~( . So it was really no contest which one I bought.
I guess I got over it because the CL55 is so amazing to me. And as far as BMW goes my brother had a horror story thet blows my story away. So he switched to MB.
For me I learned never to expect anything via trusting any dealership, or information of any type, especially on the internet. The proof is in the pudding. Sit in the car and ask questions, play with every gaget, drive it, read magazines, and wait for someone else to be one of the first owners of a new model.
I even considered the new Bently, but I like the CL better.
I still feel strong about the original issue, and hope I helped others on this forum, be careful of the information on MB's web site, and careful ordering a new year without sitting in it. Paitence is a virtue.

Purchase agreement is by definition an agreement to purchase one specific item, right?I'm not a lawyer but I would first argue that the purchase agreement is associated to one specific car whose VIN is stated in the agreement. So... if the VIN is not matched, then it means the same thing as:
- The car has not been delivered
- The purchase agreement is NULL, VOID.
So it means the dealer gave you a car for free (no agreement for this VIN, right?) and you are entitled to get your money back!
j/kKeep us updated.... I really want to see how this issue ends. If the dealer can get away with this, I just found myself a good way to make tons of $$$$....
Hear is the deal i traded in my CLK55 for a CL55. thats all. i gave MB hell about the issue i had with my CLK55. And as it turns out i love my CL55. and will keep for many years. i was very, very careful when i traded to make sure it has everything i need. it does and then some.
i do have a set of HRE 540R's for a CLK55, for sale.
perfect contdition: $4,250....

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
SequenceSF's last post was 4/23/04, with unfortunately no finality to his CL debacle with Ray Catena and MBUSA. I am sure I am not alone in wondering how this mess ended.
mark4 first posted on this thread 8/26/04 with a similar issue with his Mercedes. A related issue with Mercedes, but not the same poster.
He spent $90K, over the Internet, without seeing the goods, and got scammed. Then he played the blame game. It’s the dealer, it’s the manufacturer, it’s FEMA! That appears to work for a while, but eventually the guy “goes missing”.
Man, follow the clues. His wife murdered him, took the insurance money, and was last seen buying a car (in person) at a dealer.
Lock the thread for Pete sake.
You would think sequencecf and mark4 are the same person since sequencecf signed his posts with "Mark" at the bottom of each post.
