I recently purchased a 2009 CL63 a couples ago, and it is a great card, more options that the competition with the power, but just having an issue with the car.

I get really bad body roll on the car. When I am driving 40-50 mph if I turn the wheel to steer away from a pot hole or anything, I will feel the whole car roll and feel back heavy.


Another issue is that any speed above 80, I feel the car isn't safe, even turning the wheel a little makes me feel like I am going to crash.

Does the 2009 cl63 come equipped with active body control also? If so, maybe there is a faulty sensor on mine? Not sure.

Because of this problem, I really feel like getting rid of the car. Any help would be appreciated.

Exactly. Is it salvaged or something? Did you check carfax when you bought it?

Sounds like something is seriously wrong with the car. My 2003 cl55 feels just as smooth doing 30 or 100...

I would take it to the dealer and have them check it out, I would also do a Carfax report.
Really wouldn't risk driving it like that.
How many miles did the car have when you bought it?

Yeah had a carfax done on the car prior to purchasing it. I was the second owner and the car had 8k on it. Has 15k on it now, I just though heavy body roll was a common issue on it because of it being a large car.

I have taken it to the dealership before regarding a an alignment issue but they never mentioned anything. I will see if I can get a technician in the car with me to show him how it rides.

But does anyone know does an 09 CL63 come with active body control? I know the 10's do but not sure about the 09

All CL AMG models have ABC, including yours.

There should be an ABC sport mode to reduce body roll. Do you have that on? It still wouldn't explain instability at speed, however.

If you don't feel safe while driving 80mph in your Benz, something has to be wrong. The only time I didnt feel safe in my CLK was on the autobahn but I was doing 260km/h

I believe all 216 cl have abc. The amg modlels has the amg tuned abc.

Something is definitely wrong.

True, something seems worng. My brothers CL65 40th anniversary is stable as a starship at 200KPH all day long.

The 2009 and up model year CL550s come standard with 4Matic, therefore losing ABC and getting Airmatic instead.
