Lowered The CL55 Thanks to Benz Wörks

I understand that if you have a camber/tire wear problem, that you can use the button on the dash to raise it back near the formerly "normal" height and correct the problem. That's what a friend does. But he burns tires off so fast with his driving that he probably doesn't have any scientific data backing up the result.

Did you re-align the car? Or did you leave it incase you have to raise it up? I just installed my lowering module last night and dropped it approximately 40mm all around.

That's the module I purchased. Came with the remote. I ran the remote lines into the glove box in the car. I can tell/show you where to run the wiring harness through. Its very easy (once you figure it out).
One thing I must caution people on. The CL's wiring is backwards on two pins. You have to swap both the pins in the main harness and the 2 pins in the new "8" pin harness for it to work properly. Otherwise it raises the car in the rear instead of lowering it.
BTW that module is the exact same as the Renntech module. EXACT. The only difference is that it doesn't say Renntech on it.

Thanks. So same thing for half on eBay. Sounds good.
I'm guessing the dash button for raising and lowing becomes nonfunctional after the install?

OK, this could really confuse me. So the dash button raises or lowers it as it always has, but the new gizmo just lets you pick where the default/normal/lowest position is?
If that's right, then that is seriously cool. You guys keep making me spend money!

You have a couple of options.
1 is to turn off the module and it raises the car back up to factory height or 2 use the raise buttons on the dash. It will raise the car up and then once you're done going over the speed bump you just either turn the module on or press the button on the dash.
The lowering module just tricks the ecu into lowering the car but it still thinks its at factory height.

Let me get this straight. So, with the dash buttons off/unlighted and in the "normal" position I can use the module to lower the car to a new "normal." Then I can just leave the module alone if I want, and use the dash buttons to raise it (not to the same two levels they would have before) but up the same incremental amount they would have before. So, same increments of increased height, but it just starts up from a lower position, so the end result is just that much lower. Right?

The module has a return to stock setting. All the other functions still work like the raise, and suspension settings. If you turn the modul off, or hit th return to stock setting, it is like the car is back to complete stock again. You can raise or lower the front two corners seprately and the rear moves as a single unit if that makes sense. You can lower the car in incrments of .02 from .02 down to 2.0.
