How to remove CL Hood Flat Badge

Anyone know how to remove the CL Hood Star Flat Badge? It's not like the old badges where you turn something and it pops out.

Bought a nice AMG logo flat badge which seems to have two prongs only.

Yes, I just changed mine out.

I removed the hood latch from the underside of the hood, you will see the 2 small holes then. Just push up thru the holes with a small screw driver or nail.

I bought the Japanese one on Ebay for the CL65. Very nice quality.
To bad the holes were going the wrong way.

No way to find out till I popped the stock one off. And it was going the wrong direction (the two holes making a horizon).

The directions were perfect, Thanks Man!

Now I need to find one that fits.. I'll check out that link.

That's the one. It didn't come with the logo for the two holes (top to bottom). It was horizontal..

The black AMG center is not glued on, it will come off. Spin it how you need it to be, then peel the tape off the back and glue it to the chrome center.

Oh, the horrible red triangle.. yes, that's the one everyone comments on when they get in the car for the first time.. Quite annoying.
How did you remove it, or did you just cover it?

But as far as the hood badges go, that one from Japan on Ebay works. Nice quality. I added some glue to the prongs before it went on..

*Note to self, do not drop anything like a small screw driver or bolts down where the fan is, your gonna freak out!
Cover your cooled down if not cold engine with a large sheet before you work on your hood.

** I had to get the Snake-Cam with Videoscope to find that small screwdriver, talk about nerve racking and a freak out espisode, I did not dare start the car till I saw and extracted the screwdriver that did the impossible acrobatic drop right between the fan shroad and engine.

Yea, I thought it was quite hideous as well. It sticks out like a sore thumb. All I did was get the AMG sticker from the hood emblem and stick it over the triangle. People always ask me, "whats that AMG button do?" LOL!! I tell them that it adds 100hp like the M button...

I'm glad you found that screw! Anything loose inside your engine is nerve racking...
