Is your CL a prima donna?
I have to admit that my cl65 is a prima donna car because I don't drive it in the rain and I don't take it to run simple errands where I'd have to leave it in public parking lots like banks, grocery stores, theaters, shopping malls etc. I also don't commute in it so its not a daily driver. Its more of a fair weather car driven in dry weather and only to nice events.
That being said, how do you use your CL?

Mostly like you, no rain (tough in ohio), no groceries, retired from job. Use for general rides, cruise ins are very popular here every day with many choices, luncheons, friends and any other other excuse. Never forget to hit it.

I also take her out to the Los Angeles crest mountains every other week with a group of friends for some spirited driving. The handling on the CL is very impressive for such a heavy car and the torque is amazing when you're pulling out of a turn.

come on
I'm brand new to the car but this beast should not be hidden in the garage, that's a shame what I'm reading above. I garage mine too, and I will do my best to keep it out of rain, but a drive around town to pick up dry cleaning, shopping, etc......why not? Hope you guys are also not the ones who will never turn the ESP off to see if you can spin the tires. Maybe I am just of the mind that a car like this is begging to be driven so I don't mind driving it anywhere (outside a place where I have to valet it) :-)
come on guys, exercise those engines :-)

I've posted similar pics in the past but it just keeps getting better. I have had the car for 3 yrs and the averages and mileage are since my ownership. These numbers are real, other members have seen them in person. I still love the car, its not a daily driver and its only used in good weather when it can do what it does best. I'd have to say one of my favorite trips was bringing my wife to the hospital for our second daughter to be born. She had too much on her mind to worry about how fast we were traveling! I figured worst thing that could happen was I could get an escort from a cop that couldn't keep up. Once in a life time trip...unless we have more..hahaha

I LOVE the appreciation for these cars They RECENTLY are getting
They r first of all too cheap and regarded as just another Benz. Not cool.
I personally drive and maintain my car which has 100k miles on it like it was my own kid.
I love the car enough to say that I am proud to see it is still like new after the time I originally bought it.
The quality of the materials are superior to a FERRARI or LAMBORGHINI or etc.
And much more then a BENTLEY GT. I am assuming that is why even with 200k miles or more they will be holding up very well and still performing like new.
Infact I just met up with a new owner of a new C63 coupe Black Series. We were on the highway and took a run with each other from 50-60mph. it is a Great looking car. I was ahead by almost 4-5 cars to 140mph. Afterwards we got off at the next exit and then he complimented my car and the look I did with it. He also mentioned he paid about $140k for his car. Then admitted he may of paid much more now knowing it wasn't as quick or rare as my 65 is at a fraction of his car's cost. I explained that someone has to bite the bullet for others to own such cars in the used market.
65's are the pinnacle of what a fast comfortable and reliable car overbuilt for the population of REAL avid car enthusiasts were designed for
I drive my car as much as I can. Not enough

You DO sell cars. You ARE RM. You DO tell stories that are not true, like not selling cars, not being RM, and not ever paying for any repairs on your cars. You DO have a CL65 and like it a lot.
If we could just eliminate the third part of the above statement, I think you'd be a great addition to the forum.

Maybe I will lighten up after a bit but for now this car is a prissy car it stays in the garage and doesn't move in the rain or wetness. In a way I wish I didn't buy a car that was so nice it doesn't have a ding or scratch on it and the interior is flawless so that's why I'm treating it like a prom queen. If it was roughed up a bit I wouldn't care.
A 670 hp supra hmmm I thought all supras were either stock or 1000+ hp???
I see silverbullet got banned again LOL.

Hmm, not really, I'll drive my CL anywhere. Only problem is that its so extremely custom that every part of the car you touch on the outside has been customized, even down to the A pillars and door handles. I just hate parking it and leaving it unattended, lots of jealous ****ers out there.

those are daily cars easy to live with and made to be driven in all conditions. the dont like to sit and things go wrong with them when they are not exercised.
besides the engine, there is nothing really exciting in the driver's department. they are big luxo boats with lots of trust but that is about it. nothing extraordinary limiting them to fair weather usage only.
my 2 cents

So please don't take this as a personal attack but that poor car is itching to get out and show you it can run :-) take it out....exercise that engine......run it hard.........don't let it decay in the garage...its a machine, meant to run, not sit. I know that everyone wants to pamper their "baby" and I have gone through that same mentality with my 911 turbo but in the end, I look back at some days I should have driven that car and am pissed at myself for not taking it out. Have a new car now and am going to drive it hard until I trade it out....my hope is that each of you will do the same to yours :-)
