Door Panel Help

I'm trying to remove my driver side door panel to fix a leaky vacuum line for the door assist and i have followed the procedure described here - http://www.justanswer.com/mercedes/1...ior-panel.html

But once i get past the last step the panel still seams to be stuck around the door handle assembly...

Anyone know how to get it off after this point?

Thanks in advance

You need to reach in where the seat control unit was and feel for a plastic release handle. Pull the handle and it will release the panel. Its tricky at first but once you feel it and learn how to use the release handle it will release the panel.

Yeah, i released the handle, it was one of the last steps in the tutorial and i know it poped out because i had to press it hard to get it to latch back in

Even after releasing this it was stuck around the door handle, any other suggestions?

Addict is correct, the sealing rails clip onto the doors sheet metal (via metal body clips) and they do hold tight.

I know the feeling as the first time I pulled the panels I wanted to make sure not to break anything !

Conversely when reinstalling the door panel you need to seat the sealing rails down on the rail area first and use pretty hard pressure to seat them flush.

Also, don't forget to hook back up the door opener pull mechanism. I usually forget this half the time and have to pull the panel off again
