IF We Get Another Euroteck W215 Group Buy...

Hey guys,

For those that would be interested, if Euroteck were to decide to do another carbon fiber group buy for the W215 CL AMG, what would you like to see made?
We have a diffuser, front lip, side skirt attachments and trunk spoiler made for the CL. Any other ideas/concepts you'd like to see made in carbon fiber for our cars?
From what I can think of, maybe a little lip/spoiler piece to go underneath and make it a rear bumper extension. I think that would even out the whole car on the side.. Something like this:

Or perhaps an aggressively designed rear roof spoiler (I've never been a big fan of them, but if done right, you never know)

I'd love to hear some input of what other members are thinking would be cool that really isn't on the market for our cars. This is by no means official nor has Euroteck decided to take on the task. But with enough people and money, I'm sure they can cook something up

I think the rear lip spoiler for the bumper is cool but I think I might hold off on euroteck group buy as of now. Don't get me wrong they make some of the best one of a kind stuff but communication stinks lately. If you are down to doing a group buy I'll be down and we can see what other companies are available out there. Be aware it's not easy to find 10 member pay out to get the project started.

Well, Neal won't be on board. I PM'd him to talk to the people who work over there and give them a lesson on improvement about quality customer support

Don't get me wrong, that would be cool, but I'm talking accessory-wise? I think it would be more useful to get the entire trunk done in carbon fiber or the doors if you're thinking about saving weight. The hood would take MONTHS and much longer than what we've been accustomed to waiting, it's such a big piece.

Isn't the factory CL hood aluminum? A CF version would likely weigh more if so...

After Installing the side skirt, I think if we can do a group buy for the rear bumper spoiler, it would complete the carbon fiber wrap on the W215. Who would be interested in doing a group buy on this piece?

I think you can buy that on eBay, there's a seller that sells them for a very good price. I think he ran out but is ordering more.

LOL You see what I mean? As soon as I installed the skirts, I immediately thought of doing a part like that. That piece would fit so snug with all the other carbon pieces we have on the Euroteck CL's. The beauty of it all is that it's not really a big piece, so it shouldn't be too time consuming getting a mold and everything made. Also, they have a rear bumper they used to make the diffuser out of, which means no waiting for that. This would work great and I for one would be in for this if a group buy were to come about.

I know you can buy a roof spoiler on eBay for the W215, but one in carbon fiber? Are you sure?

Yes in carbon fiber, seller had 3 but sold out pretty quick. Right under $100 and free shipping

yah, but it's not a ET roof spoiler..

I bought one of those ebay roof spoiler.. but a non CF version and it was not well made. Rather heavy and thick..and just didn't seem to be a good fit. Didn't like it. Removed it.

Also, I have no idea that the EBay CF version weave pattern would match the other ET pieces..

Coming from ET, I would think the roof spoiler would match perfect..and lighter and most likely a better fit..

I totally understand and agree with what you are saying. That's why I didnt buy it. Also the carbon fiber gloss finish might start to turn yellow in the heat. I do have a rear roof spoiler but its made by Lorinser and it's a perfect fit. I think we should Find and see who would be willing to do the rear bumper spoiler for us.

Given the choice, between the rear bumper extensions or a rear roof spoiler, I'd have to go with the bumper piece. I was never too big of a fan when I see a Mercedes with both, a rear trunk and roof spoiler, both back there. Kind of jumbles it up, it looks too busy most of the time. The only way I'd want a carbon roof spoiler is if it had a totally different design than what we're used to and if it had a very aerodynamic shape to it. But even so, as a piece that would compliment the rest of what we have, the rear bumper extension is the sleeker way to go.

yah, you right, the bumper piece would probably be more realistic to make compared to the roof spoiler..

Good afternoon guys,

2012 is going to be a very very busy year for us and was one of the reasons why the last group buy was projected to be the last...

with that being said... I will go ahead and put these on the docket for design, however i can not promise a completion date, therefore i will not accept any payment either. I will simply produce this item for this community without any minimum purchase number. I'm a firm believe that we will sell at least 8 sets to those who have purchased the rockers and hopefully more to others in the future. I would guess that the final cost will be about $300 but do not hold me to that it very well could be less, or slightly more. Once we get caught up and begin the mock up i will notify the community!

thank you again for your support and faith in the EUROteck product line!

That sounds awesome! Price is on point to, however much you need, I'll do my part to make it happen. It shouldn't be too much of a difficult design. We don't need anything too fancy or big, just a carbon fiber piece as thick as the front lip that would hug the rear bumper on the sides. As long as it follows the contours of the bumper, just like the picture I posted in the original post, it should look perfect. Little touches like this are what sets the cars apart from others out there. I'm really excited for this. The more carbon, the better IMO. Knowing you guys, it will look like a piece Mercedes themselves made, just like everything produced by Euroteck. I, along with the others, can imagine how busy your company must be, therefore it's good to know this won't be that much of a time consuming or complicated piece to make, like the side skirts or diffuser. I'll start a thread to see where the interest level would be. I assume that this is what we came to the conclusion would be a good part to get made over other options?

While I'd like to believe we could pump these out in a few weeks that is just not feasible. the product itself may be simple but the amount of time and work is not, will try our best to release these near the end of this year. thank you again for your faith.

I believe you can still buy one from Euroteck as we were short 2 orders for the side skirts. Euroteck MS stated that they received ONE(?) order so far so I'm sure they'll sell you one if you ask to cover the remaining cost

I know you've been wanting one for a while

I unfortunately can not offer you the group buy pricing on the rockers as it would not be fair to those who helped fund the project, two members here did purchase a extra set and they may be willing to sell at a better price then what I would be offering to you.

Regardless, I have sent you a PM!
